The mission of Redding City Ballet is to present classical, contemporary and innovative concert dance to a broad audience and to increase accessibility to the arts for the schools of the North State area through educational outreach programs, lectures and performances. Redding City Ballet (RCB) was found in 1993 and began touring local schools offering
lecture demonstrations and educational opportunities/training in classical dance and
performance. In 1997 it presented its first full length Nutcracker production with a sixty-five member cast that included community members and children along aside local professionals. In 2002 the company was granted 501(c)3 status and firmly established itself as the first resident ballet company of Shasta County and the City of Redding. To date,
RCB continues to present the Nutcracker annually in Redding as well as touring to the
neighboring community of Weaverville. Casting for the Nutcracker for these past twenty-two years has continued to draw dancers from across the county resulting in continuing casts of over 40+ established artists and dancer trainees.

Friday mornings at Redding City Ballet are now open for homeschool families and students who are available during the day.

We’re offering two morning ballet classes designed to give young dancers a strong foundation in classical technique while building coordination, flexibility, endurance, and musicality.

Morning Children’s Beginner Ballet
Ages 6–9

Morning Children’s Beg/Int Ballet
Ages 9–12

Both classes meet once per week for 60 minutes on Friday mornings.

A thoughtful daytime ballet option for homeschool families and students with flexible schedules.

One week ago, we had the incredible opportunity to welcome Valery Lantratov to our studio!

At Redding City Ballet, we believe in creating opportunities for dancers to learn, be challenged, and grow. That means not only investing in our own students, but also bringing exceptional training opportunities to dancers throughout the North State.

We’re so grateful to Valery for sharing his knowledge, artistry, and decades of experience with our dancers, and to everyone who joined us for this special master class.

Matinee Mini Auditions!

We are thrilled to our “Matinee Mini Dancers” to a magical opportunity designed for ages 4–6!

This special program gives our youngest performers their first taste of the stage without the late-night commitments of the full cast.

Matinee Mini Dancers will perform alongside the full cast during our Nutcracker matinees at the Cascade Theatre, December 12 & 13.

This is a chance for dancers and families to ask questions about the audition process, roles, rehearsal expectations, schedules, and what to expect throughout Nutcracker season.
