When you’re trying to coach the sideline players and coach the game at the same time

Oh, you know… just teaching the boys how to do a longer throw-in.

This is expected effective immediately. 😂💀

Size doesn’t define you. Heart, confidence, and determination do.

Jayden, Juan, and Raul all have strong kicks. I told them I only need ONE free-kick taker, so there’s no arguing on the field about who takes it.

They’re competing for the position working on power, accuracy, and consistency—while still motivating and supporting each other.

“You can kick that far? Watch me kick farther!”

That’s how it should be: push each other, compete, and get better. At the end of the day, we’re one team, so it’s always a win.

The players were very worried about Jayden not being able to play and were already thinking, “We can’t win without him.”

Yesterday, I reminded them that yes, they can and they will, as long as they play as a team and believe in themselves.

Today, they proved it. They fought hard, played together, and showed so much heart without Jayden.

After the game, it was important for me to remind them: “You did it!”

They are ALL great players, and I want them to believe in themselves just as much as I believe in them.

As a coach, I’ll admit I was hard on Cesar when he first started because I wasn’t seeing the effort I knew he had in him. I reminded him that if he didn’t want to play, he shouldn’t feel forced.

He kept telling us, “I do want to play. I’ll try harder.” And he did!

He started practicing at home, asked for goalkeeper tips and videos, and put in the work. Now seeing him dive, jump, come out of the box, and make saves he wasn’t making before makes me incredibly proud.

This is player development. This is why we coach. Keep it up, Cesar

One rec season, Kevin Owen’s dad coached them, then I stepped in and coached them.
Second season i did we decided to take the next step and go competitive.
Owen played somewhere else than found his way to us.

these boys have been playing together for a couple of years and it’s truly so beautiful to watch them grow not only as players, but as teammates and as young men.

To see where they started and where they are now makes me so proud. They’ve grown together,

And the best part? They’re doing it together in a sport that I absolutely love to coach.
