When your sport demands high explosiveness, speed, power, or reflex.

Then you need to train exactly those areas

Its ok to lift weights, work hypertrophy, and hit some steady cardio

But bench pressing and going on runs alone, wont give you that athletic edge you are looking for.

Add these into your routine to see what real progress looks like 💪🏼

You wouldnt believe the amount of inquiries I get after season starts, about coming in to help work on their athlete to try and fix the wea points they discovered, or try to catch up to the competition.

Their gas tank is burning too quickly

They cant finish their shots

They are stuck on bottom all the time

They look stiff out there and dont have great level changes or lateral Movement.

And Much much more

But at that point by the time you start seeing results, your season is almost over

I know I can get results to you quickly.. but we need to be realistic. . . Results take time.

So why wait?

Come get started now , so you can actually use these results you want during season.

After school spots are almost all filled and I have a couple left before school, so dont wait any longer!

Here are 8 areas you need to Focus on when training for wrestling season

Aerobic capacity
• Why: The main component that powers quick recovery between bursts and keeps you fresh into the third period.
Anaerobic Capacity
• Why: Fuels high-intensity scrambles. It helps you push past the lactic acid burn when grinding through heavy positional exchanges when you are low on oxygen

Dynamic Effort
• Why: Supports fast shots, explosive lifts, throws, and snap-counters.

Power
• Why: Gives you the ability to explode repeatedly. Ensures youre shooting strong late in the match and not just in the beginning

Isometric Strength
• Why: Builds static holding power. Essential for squeezing collar ties, holding riding positions, and maintaining tight leverage on top.

Lateral Movement
• Why: Controls mat space, opens angles for attacks, and allows you to circle out instead of just straight forward and back

Reaction Speed
• Why: Sharpens your muscle memory to sprawl instantly, capitalize on tiny openings, and counter your opponent's attacks.

HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training)
• Why: Replicates the natural tempo of a match. Teaches your body to go maximum effort, reset quickly, and attack again.

The disappointment

08/22/2026

Training agility and plyometrics sharpens your reactive strength, makes directional changes smoother, builds injury resilience, and increases overall athleticism.

🏃‍♂️Plyometrics train your Central Nervous System to maximize the stretch-shortening cycle. Your muscles act like rubber bands—stretching on impact and immediately snapping back to convert absorbed energy into explosive force with minimal ground contact time.

🦾🔧They Sharpen movement mechanics and help refine footwork, center-of-gravity control, and deceleration. By increasing muscle memory for sudden movements and pivots, your body cuts out wasted motion and conserves energy during complex athletic plays.

🤕They also help injury prvention by stiffening tendons and ligaments,—while teaching your joints to safely absorb and dissipate high kinetic forces.

Different goals mean training for different training adaptations.

It doesnt mean either way is wrong, but it might be wrong for your specific goals
