Stairs are a great reminder that your body works as a TEAM. 👇
There’s never just one muscle responsible for a single movement.

When you climb stairs, your legs, hips, core, and feet all have a job to do.

Today we’re focusing on one BIG group of muscles in your thighs that helps you push yourself upward.

Why does that matter?

Because we train so everyday life can keep feeling strong, capable, and independent as we age!

That’s the goal.

At 56, I picked up a golf club for the first time in my life… and now, at 59, I love it. ⛳️

It reminded me that it’s never too late to try something new.
To feel awkward
To learn
To grow and to maybe even surprising yourself because
there’s something really powerful about allowing yourself to be a beginner again.

We don’t stop because we get older…
we get older when we stop trying new things

Keep learning
Keep growing
Keep trying

Aging is a privilege. Let’s keep living it💗

Mobility is not just about flexibility.

It’s about having the strength and control to move through a comfortable range of motion.

That means being able to turn, reach, squat, rotate, and get up and down off the floor with more confidence.

The goal isn’t to force your body into positions it isn’t ready for.

The goal is to keep giving your body safe, consistent opportunities to move well.

Your core is more than your abs. đź©·

On Monday, we met your transverse abdominis—the deep abdominal muscle that wraps around your midsection like a natural corset.

Today, let’s put that knowledge into movement.

Here are 3 different ways to challenge your deep core while moving your arms and legs:

✨Movements #1
Around the worlds

✨Movement #2
V-Sit with leg lower

✨Movement #3
Alternating Squats

The goal isn’t to “suck in” your stomach or brace as hard as possible.
It’s learning how to create support and stability with a total body connection.

Because that’s what a functional core looks like!
Moving through life with strength, control and most of all confidence.

Which of these 3 movements do you feel the most? 👇

Why strengthen and not just do cardio?
Strength helps support your spine, stabilize your body, and make everyday movements feel stronger and more controlled.

As we get older, core training becomes less about chasing a six-pack and more about building the strength to bend, reach, carry, and move with confidence.

A strong core helps you stay connected to your body—and a strong body helps to live the life you want to keep living.

Save this as a reminder that core strength is about so much more than appearance.

Meet Your Muscle Monday

Meet the muscle that acts like your body’s natural corset. 🩷

Say hello to your transverse abdominis (TA)—one of your deepest abdominal muscles.

Unlike the muscles that create the “six-pack” look, the TA wraps around your midsection and helps provide support and stability for your spine and trunk.

And here’s why I care about it as we get older…

Your core isn’t just about doing ab exercises.
It’s about having a body that can bend, reach, lift, walk, rotate and get up from a chair with confidence.

A strong core is a functional core.

So don’t just train your muscles to look strong.
Train them to support the life you want to live.

That’s The Core Method. 🩷

Getting older doesn’t mean we stop learning.

Quite the opposite.

Try something new. Learn a new movement.
Take up a new activity. Be willing to be a beginner again.

Your body was designed to adapt.

And sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is stop worrying about being good at something—and simply enjoy learning.

At 59, I’m still learning.

And I plan to keep going. ❤️

We tend to think about balance as a “core” or “hip” issue.

But your balance system starts at the ground.

Your feet and ankles provide information.
Your hips help you respond.
Your trunk helps organize the movement.

It’s all connected.

Balance isn’t one body part. It’s a conversation between your body parts.

09/02/2026

Try this and pay attention to what happens when you change direction.

Your body is constantly making tiny adjustments to keep you upright and in control.

The goal isn’t perfect balance

The goal is being able to respond

That’s what makes movement functional—and that’s what helps us keep doing the things we love with less worry!
