For years, I carried someone else’s initials on me — a constant reminder of a time and person that brought more pain than peace. I used to look at the tattoo and feel stuck in a story that no longer belonged to me.

It took me a long time to decide to cover it up, but when I finally did, it became more than just a new tattoo. I found an amazing artist who specializes in cover-ups, and the moment I saw his work, I knew I could finally turn something painful into something beautiful.

Now, instead of someone else’s name, I have Joshua Tree — a place that means so much to me in this new chapter of my life. There’s something about the desert, the resilience, and the quiet strength of Joshua Tree that feels like home. It represents growth, survival, and finding peace within yourself.
