For our next Coach Spotlight we’ve got Varsity Boys Soccer Coach Todd Burr!⚽️ Todd has been coaching soccer “on and off forever” and this is his fourth year coaching with Storm. He believes that coaching soccer in a Christian-centered environment is a great way to disciple and mentor young men while playing a sport they all love.

Outside of coaching, Todd works at Microsoft and spends time with family playing volleyball, golf, and more soccer!

Todd’s favorite Bible passage is Romans 9, “1 I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit— 2 I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. 3 For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race, 4 the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. 5 Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised! For our first Coach Intro we have KATLYN JONES! Katlyn coaches our Middle School Girls Volleyball team and this is her 6th season coaching with Storm.

She believes that “coaching gives us the opportunity to impact young people far beyond the sport itself. Athletics teach kids about discipline, perseverance, humility, teamwork, and how to respond to both success and failure–and I want to use those experiences to point athletes toward Christ.“

Katlyn additionally works on full time staff at New Life Camp as the Program Operations Director. In her free time, Katlyn enjoys spending time with her son Easton and playing games with her husband Zach!

Galatians 1:10 “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.“

We had the sweetest time at our Cross Country Senior Sunrise! Storm is thankful for this group of men and women who lead by example and love their team well!
