Winning football games is hard and if you can figure it out as an OC to win ugly and a DC to bleed a little slower then you’re a damn good unselfish coach.
Not every year or every game is going to be lights out and keep you in guru status…Learn to win, teach, and enjoy regardless.

Real problems, real solutions, life changing results.
From one of our incredible coaches in Louisiana:
“...a program that had not won a game in 3 years, lost 23 in a row, and hadn't won a conference game in 4 years. We went 5-1 to start. Broke dozens of school offensive records. Got the Booster Club out of debt for the first time in 8 years.”
Think of how this transforms not just the coaches' lives- but the players. The impact. Results like these get people watching you, your players. Putting your team on the map means opportunities that may have not been there before.

High School and Middle school pre-season scrimmage vs. another school reminders:
1) Get competitive Reps with your base scheme
2) Winning isn’t even a remote thought as it’s a useless indicator since it isn’t “real”…Winning is simply getting quality reps with players who need them
3) Don’t give away formations, scheme, personnel groupings that might give you a competitive edge for your upcoming early season
4) Get the defensive coaches off the field ( five defensive coaches standing 10 yards deep in secondary make it look like 16 defensive players to the quarterback…It’s extremely unprofessional and unsafe
5) Drop your ego and leave it at home and play every player that might have to get reps this season
6) Protect the players you can’t afford to lose once they’ve received the reps they need
7) Have a plan for the number of reps u want and the situations u want and then stick to it
8) Practice your pregame warmups
9) Careful with giving away signals

The idea that college quarterbacks and high school qbs from some programs can’t or don’t “full field progression read” is a valid point for some, however it isn’t a correct label for all.
For example, the Hal Mumme and Mike Leach Air Raid system has full field read progressions 1 through 5 as well as pre-snap “hots” etc.
Their genius came in making the pre-snaps and read progressions seem simple instead of complicated. They have been criticized for this by the “self-proclaimed experts” when they should be lauded.
Great teachers take the complex and make it simple. Bad teachers take the simple and make it complex.
Be great.
