Traditional full contact Japanese karate for the entire family based off of the teachings of Soshu Shigeru Oyama.
Bushiken Karate, Saint-cyr Dojo is a full contact traditional Japanese school. Our techniques are based off the teachings of Soshu Shigeru Oyama 10th Dan. At the Saint-Cyr Dojo, we work on improving self esteem, conditioning, focus, discipline and coordination. Men Women, children and families as a whole are encouraged to train. Through Bushiken karate we seek to help individuals meet their person

Swapped the dojo floor for the dance floor for the latest sidequest: my very first Salsa class! 💃🕺
Let's just say traditional stances didn't exactly prep me for this footwork. There was plenty of awkward timing, missed beats, and trying to figure out which way to spin, but it was an absolute blast stepping out of the comfort zone.

Attention:
There will be no karate class today 6/29/26. Shihan Marvin is still traveling and will not return in time to teach class. We will see you on Wednesday at the regular scheduled time.

This weekend, I was honored to have Shihan Mike here to oversee and test the Raleigh dojo students. We put in a lot of work to prepare for this test and I am happy to say that everyone did a tremendous job. Of course there are things that we need to work on, but that will always be the case.
I am very proud of all of you. Final results of the test will be forthcoming soon, but know that Shihan Mike Skinner spoke highly of you all, your effort and determination. Let's keep pushing forward. OSU!
