Today marks a significant moment in the evolution of our organization.

After extensive planning, thoughtful conversations, and countless hours of work behind the scenes, we are proud to officially announce that the Raleigh Firebirds will now be rebranded as the Carolina Firebirds.

This decision was not made lightly. It came through a long and deliberate process that involved evaluating our growth, our vision, and the impact we want to make moving forward. There were tough conversations and difficult choices along the way, but every step was taken with one goal in mind building something bigger than ourselves.

Let me be clear, this change does not mean we are leaving Raleigh.

Raleigh will always be our home. It is where the Firebirds were built, where our foundation was established, and where our identity was shaped. Everything we do will continue to stem from Raleigh, and it will remain the heartbeat of our organization.

The transition to the Carolina Firebirds represents something greater and that’s inclusion.

We are expanding our vision to embrace the entire state of North Carolina. This rebrand allows us to connect with communities across all cities and towns, bringing people together through the game of basketball. Our goal is to unite, inspire, and grow the sport while creating opportunities to engage with families statewide.

You can expect to see the Firebirds making our way across North Carolina hosting events, building relationships, and creating experiences that bring communities together.

Stay connected with us by following our Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms to keep up with everything we have coming next.

To our sponsors and partners we are incredibly grateful for your continued support, trust and belief in what we are building have made this moment possible.

This is just the beginning of a new chapter going into the 2027 TBL Season.

We are the Carolina Firebirds!

Raleigh, NC - The Raleigh Firebirds captured their second straight Southeastern Division championship with a heart stopping 119-118 win over the Fayetteville Liberty Saturday night at Crown Arena. Julian Gamble sealed the title with a buzzer beating put back and one, completing a dramatic comeback that erased a 22 point third quarter deficit.
Fayetteville controlled much of the night, building a large lead in the third quarter and carrying momentum into the final period. The Firebirds flipped the script with intense defensive pressure and a sudden offensive surge. Daquon Antoine, Julian Gamble and Dominique Sutton led Raleigh's charge.

Key moments:
- Midway through the third, the Liberty led by as many as 22 points.

- Raleigh tightened defensively, forced turnovers and began converting on close-range opportunities.

- DJ Thomas and Daquon Antoine hit timely three-pointers; Dominique Sutton buried a corner triple that swung momentum.

- Antoine's back-to-back threes cut the deficit to one late in the game.

- Shakeef Daniels ripped a steal on the Liberty's next possession, giving Raleigh one final chance.

- Coach Kenny Collins called a timeout, drew up a last-minute play, and the Firebirds executed perfectly. Gamble followed a missed shot with a put-back, giving the Firebirds a one point lead. The buzzer sounded and the Firebirds won a 119-118 victory.

The win earns the Firebirds the Southeastern Division crown and a first-round bye in the
2026 TBL playoffs.

The Liberty will head to Kissimmee, Florida for a play-in matchup against the Kissimmee Lamb.
