It’s not just stress or dehydration. It’s your hormones and here’s what’s actually happening:

Estrogen plays an important role in regulating pain signals in the brain. When it fluctuates, which it’s doing constantly during perimenopause, it triggers changes in blood vessels that can set off headaches and migraines.

The most common triggers are estrogen drops before your period, bad sleep from hot flashes, skipping meals, or blood, sugar, crashes, stress and cortisol, spikes and dehydration.

Brain 🧠 fog is a real symptom of perimenopause. Estrogen is an important ingredient in our memory word, retrieval, and focus so when our estrogen levels fluctuate, our brain is impacted!

Here are three habits that will make the biggest difference:

1. Exercise 150 minutes a week.
2. Stay focused in the present.
3. Prioritize sleep.

Learning new things like a language or playing brain games will also help and use technology to help you! Make reminders on your phone!
