Change rarely happens all at once.

It happens one workout.

One walk.

One stretch before bed.

One healthy meal.

One decision to keep going instead of giving up.

Over the past month, we've talked about strength, movement, recovery, and endurance.

None of those habits are powerful because you did them once.

They're powerful because you practiced them consistently enough for them to start feeling normal.

That's how a lifestyle is built.

Not through dramatic transformations.

Through ordinary choices repeated often enough that they become part of who you are.

If you've been following along this month, take a minute to recognize your progress.

Maybe you're stronger.

Maybe you're moving more.

Maybe you're recovering better.

Maybe you're simply paying more attention to how you care for yourself.

Don't overlook those wins.

They're the foundation of everything that comes next.

✨ Progress isn't built in one big moment. It's built in the small choices you make every day.

February in St Lucia.

Warm Caribbean air.

Incredible scenery.

Space to think, breathe, connect and experience something completely different from everyday life.

In February 2027, we're heading to St Lucia for a brand new retreat experience, and while we're not quite ready to reveal everything we've planned, we can tell you that this is going to be special.

Alison's retreats are designed around what happens when you take yourself out of your usual environment and give yourself the time to pay attention to the things that normally get pushed aside.

The ideas you've been sitting on.

The decisions you've been postponing.

The parts of your life that deserve more of your attention.

And the person you want to be as you move into your next chapter.

This time, we'll be doing that against the spectacular backdrop of one of the Caribbean's most beautiful islands.

When you think about gut health, what comes to mind?

Digestion? Bloating? The foods you eat?

There's a much bigger conversation to be had.

In "Gut Health 101" , Alison is joined by Katie Kirklin to explore the fascinating relationship between the gut, the brain, and our overall wellbeing.

They discuss how everyday habits including nutrition, movement, sleep, sunlight, and meaningful social connection can influence how we feel both physically and mentally.

Katie also explores the gut-brain connection and the role of the vagus nerve, which carries messages between the brain, gut, and other organs throughout the body.

The conversation even looks towards our future health, exploring emerging research around gut inflammation, cognitive decline, Alzheimer's, and dementia.

It's a powerful reminder that looking after your body today can have an impact that reaches much further than we might realise.

You don't need to overhaul everything overnight.

Understanding what's happening inside your body is a pretty good place to begin.

🎙️ Listen to "Katie Kirklin: Gut Health 101" now for an accessible introduction to why your gut deserves far more attention than you might be giving it.

When was the last time you had an idea that genuinely excited you?

Not something you added to the plan because you thought you *should*.

An idea that made you want to grab a notebook and start figuring out what could be possible.

Those ideas need room.

They need conversations with people who see things differently.

They need time away from the inbox, the client work, the meetings and the routines that keep your brain focused on what needs doing today.

That's the thinking behind Innovate.

Coming this October, this brand new retreat experience is being created for people who are ready to explore what's next.

New ideas.

Different perspectives.

Unexpected conversations.

And the space to look at what you've already created and ask, **where could I take this now?**

We're still keeping the full details under wraps, which means the waitlist gets to go first.

We often talk about mental health and physical health as though they're two separate things.

Your body doesn't see it that way.

The food you eat.

The quality of your sleep.

How often you move.

The sunlight you get.

The people you spend time with.

These everyday choices can all play a role in how we feel, think, and function.

In this fascinating conversation, Alison and her guest explore the connection between our physical wellbeing, mental health, and long-term brain health.

They also dive into the growing research around the gut-brain connection, including inflammation, cognitive health, and the extraordinary role of the vagus nerve.

Often described as a two-way communication superhighway, the vagus nerve connects the brain with the gut and other organs, allowing signals to constantly travel in both directions.

It's a powerful reminder that caring for our health isn't only about how we feel today talking to Katie Kirklin in this episode "Gut Health 101"

The habits we build now can help support the body and brain we're taking into the future.

🎙️ Listen now for a fascinating exploration of the relationship between your gut, your brain, your lifestyle, and your overall wellbeing.

The businesses that last aren't necessarily the ones that found the perfect formula.

They're the ones that kept paying attention.

What's working?

What has stopped working?

What are your clients asking for now?

What could you deliver differently if you stopped protecting the way you've always done things?

I learned this long before I became a business owner.

As a competitive swimmer, your stroke from last season was never sacred. You looked at your splits, paid attention to what was happening in the water, and adjusted.

Business requires the same willingness to evolve.

Retreats weren't part of my original business plan. They came from recognising that some of the transformations my clients needed couldn't happen in another hour-long call or online program.

They needed time.

Space.

Different conversations.

A different environment.

And the opportunity to get far enough away from their normal routine to see their business differently.

That's part of what we're creating in Sancerre.

An opportunity to look closely at the business you've built, reconnect with the promise at the heart of it, and explore what your next evolution could look like.

Because innovation doesn't always begin with a huge new idea.

Sometimes it begins with being brave enough to admit that what got you here might need adjusting to take you where you want to go next.

If you've been sensing that something in your business wants to shift, pay attention to it.

Sancerre could be the space where you finally work out what it's been trying to tell you.

What if the secret to getting stronger isn't pushing harder...it's simply not stopping?

One of the biggest misconceptions about endurance is that it's about pushing yourself to the limit.

It's not.

Real endurance is built by showing up consistently.

Not with one all-out workout, but with steady effort you can sustain week after week.

That's what creates lasting results.

This month we've talked about strength, movement, and recovery. Endurance brings all of those pieces together.

It's what helps you keep moving when life gets busy.

It's what allows you to build habits you can actually maintain.

Because fitness isn't about one great workout.

It's about showing up again tomorrow.

And the day after that.

This week, choose one activity you enjoy—a walk, a bike ride, a hike, or a workout—and focus on keeping a steady, sustainable pace.

You don't have to go all out.

You just have to keep going.

💬 What's one habit that's becoming part of your lifestyle instead of something you have to force yourself to do?

What could happen if you gave yourself something extraordinary to look forward to?

In February 2027, we're heading to the beautiful island of St Lucia for a brand new retreat experience.

We're still keeping some of the details under wraps, but we're creating something designed to give you the space to step away from everyday life, reconnect with yourself, and experience the kind of conversations and moments that stay with you long after you return home.

Picture Caribbean sunshine.

Beautiful surroundings.

Space to breathe.

Time for yourself without the usual list of things demanding your attention.

And a group of people coming together ready to experience something meaningful.

The destination might be spectacular, but it's what happens while you're there that we're most excited about.

How many of the most important things in your life began with a conversation?

A business idea.

A new opportunity.

A relationship.

A podcast.

A retreat.

A decision that completely changed your direction.

In this conversation, Alison explores the power of our voice and the role it plays in bringing our ideas, gifts, and potential into the world.

Because our voice does far more than communicate what we're thinking.

It's how we connect.

How we create.

How we advocate for ourselves.

How we turn the things that exist quietly inside us into something other people can experience too.

And some of the most important conversations we'll ever have aren't with other people. They're the ones we have with ourselves.

The way we speak to ourselves shapes what we believe we're capable of, what we're willing to pursue, and how confidently we show up in the world.

🎙️ If you've ever felt there's more you want to say, create, or bring into the world, this episode is a powerful reminder of what can happen when you begin using your voice more fully. The Elements of Your Voice with Barbara MacAfee is a conversation available to stream and listen now!

Sometimes one conversation really can change everything.
