Precision Deck and Patio

This large backyard transformation is coming to a close! Today we're putting on the finishing touches before handing it over to the homeowners.

Designed to fit seamlessly into the existing stonework, this project features a spacious new grilling deck and an outdoor shower—creating the perfect space to relax, entertain, and enjoy the outdoors. We can't wait to see it come alive after dark with the low-voltage lighting.

Out with the old and in with the new!

The rain, mud, and heat definitely tested our patience—along with the temptation to jump in the pool on these 100-degree days!

Despite the challenges, this backyard makeover is coming together beautifully. Next week we'll finish the grilling deck, outdoor shower, and low-voltage lighting to bring the entire space together.

Sometimes a little lighting is all it takes to make a simple deck both beautiful and safe.

This build features black TimberTech 5.5-inch railing posts paired with black aluminum railings for a clean, modern look. After dark, post cap lights add warmth, ambiance, and visibility.

The larger posts create a balanced appearance that complements the home and gives the entire outdoor space a bold style that stands out both day and night.

While most of our projects feature Trex composite decking, every now and then we build a pressure-treated wood deck. When we do, we often recommend a hybrid design with black aluminum railings.

Aluminum railings give a wood deck a clean, modern look while making future maintenance much easier. With no wood balusters or rails to stain, refinishing the deck is faster, less expensive, and delivers a cleaner result.

We've also found that wood railings are more likely to twist and warp over time. Aluminum railings stay straight, require virtually no maintenance, and help ensure a beautiful finished product that lasts for years.

A great week is in the books and we're nearly finished with this large Trex deck build! The progress has been incredible with no rain slowing us down. We are looking forward to putting the final touches on it next week.

Another beautiful build complete with happy homeowners! The Men In Black are at it again! This week we’re building a large custom deck in Raleigh featuring the Trex RainEscape drainage system to create a dry patio space below the deck.

By channeling water away from the framing and into gutters, RainEscape allows the area underneath to become a functional outdoor living space instead of wasted square footage. Even on a rainy North Carolina day, the patio below stays dry and usable.
