🔥 SAVE THIS for the next time squats have your quads doing ALL the work.
Think you’re working your glutes? Nicola is showing you how to check. 👀
A few small adjustments can change where you feel the work:
1️⃣ Sit your hips back
Think about reaching your hips behind you rather than simply dropping straight down.
2️⃣ Pay attention to where you feel it
If your quads are taking over, adjust your position and see if you can shift more of that work into your glutes.
3️⃣ Slow it down
Instead of rushing through the movement, give yourself time to actually connect with the muscle you’re trying to use.
The goal isn’t just to do the movement—it’s to understand what your body is doing while you’re there. 💪
Try these tips in your next class and see if you notice the difference.
Save this so you can come back to it + send it to the friend who always says, “Why do I only feel this in my quads?!”
One of our favorite things about a YoBa class is looking around the room and seeing women in completely different seasons of life showing up for the same reason: to move, get stronger, and do something good for themselves.
There’s no “right” age to start. And you definitely don’t need to fit a certain mold to belong here.
So if “What if no one there is my age?” has ever kept you from trying a new fitness class, consider this your reminder that there’s room for you, too.
Send this to the friend you’ve been trying to convince to come to class with you. 👀 And save it for the next time you start talking yourself out of trying something new.
POV: You came for class...and accidentally left with a new sweatshirt. 😅
We totally get it.
Our newest YoBa merch is in studio! Come take a peek before your next class.
Kinda chic to stop thinking about movement as something you do for how you look today and start thinking about what it’s doing for the version of you 10, 20, 30+ years from now.
Building strength. Moving your body. Taking care of yourself. Creating habits you can actually stick with.
Not for a “summer body.”
Not to earn your food.
Not as punishment.
Just because you want to feel strong and keep doing the things you love for a really long time. 💜
Your future self will be glad you started.
Send it to the friend you want to still be taking classes with when you’re 80. 🫶
Everyone, meet Bri! From the moment she walked through our doors, we knew she’d fit right in.
Bri brings a calm presence, positive energy, and a genuine love for helping others move, grow, and feel their best. We couldn’t be more excited to have her join our instructor team.
If you see Bri around the studio this week, be sure to introduce yourself and give her a warm YoBa welcome. We have a feeling you’re going to love taking class with her.
Pop in the comments to help us welcome Bri to the YoBa family!
Working at YoBa is about more than fitness.
It is about creating an environment where people feel welcomed, encouraged, and supported every time they walk through the door.
If you love movement and community, we would love to meet you at our instructor auditions on August 15.
