Katelyn! She always brings fun and smiles everywhere she goes! Happy to have you as part of the Roost Crew 🐓
How did you start CrossFit?
December 2025. I have a friend who does CrossFit who has been telling me to try it. I previously had a membership at a different gym but didn’t go that often. I decided one day I would try the free trial class and then I did the one month new member trial. It was for sure the best decision I have made.
What is your favorite thing about The Roost? I really like the community, the people, the coaches. It is a very welcoming and positive place to be. I also really enjoy all the fun activities that The Roost hosts, such as The Open, Tru Challenge, baseball games and the different classes that are offered.
What do you do outside of the gym? Career/Family
Outside of the gym I currently am working as an Associate Personal Banker. I have been in the banking industry for almost three years. I also have four younger brothers, I am the oldest.
What are your hobbies?
I don’t have too many hobbies currently but my hobbies are hiking and backpacking. I enjoy electronic dance music festivals. I like to sometimes drive and listen to music loudly in my car.
What is your biggest goal in the gym?
My biggest goal in the gym is to work towards becoming lean, toned and strong.
What is your favorite movement or workout in CrossFit?
I really enjoy the workouts that have the cardio in between the movements. I like how all the workouts are different each day. I enjoy the barbell movements.
Who inspires you on your days when you don’t want to show up?
I feel inspired by seeing people of different ages be dedicated, consistent and disciplined in their health and fitness. I want to be that way too.
What is one interesting thing about you that other people may not know about you?
One interesting thing people may not know about me is I went tandem skydiving for my 19th birthday.
Which exercise or workout do you hate?
I wouldn’t say I have a strong hatred for a specific movement or exercise but if I had to pick a least favorite it would be rowing, and inch worms with a push-up.
