Get your child skilled and safe BEFORE the next swim season. Skills can and should be maintained through maintenance lessons for all students during “off” seasons. Keep in mind, drowning knows no season.

No music or muting the sounds here. The aquatic problem solving and confidence here from a TWO year old are amazing! Watch the moment where she drops the starfish. Does it distract her from getting her air? Nope. 🙂‍↔️ But I do love the “OH NO, the starfish!” when she gets to me! 😅

This is a fantastic example of what can happen when you’ve already got a skilled child, but put them back in a device that holds them vertically.

Your baby worked HARD to get these skills. You put in time, dedication, money and more to get your little one life saving skills. Please don’t let it all go for “easy” in the pool.

Today, 25 July 2026, is World Drowning Prevention Day 🛟

If drowning prevention were as easy as
"watch your kids”, drowning wouldn’t be the #1 cause of death in children ages 1-4.

We have to do better!

Empower your child with ISR Self-Rescue-skills and have a multi-layered water safety plan, including:
💚Effective supervision during swim AND non-swim times!
💚A 4-sided pool fence!
💚Locks & alarms on your windows and doors.
💚Survival swimming lessons, like ISR Self-Rescue.
💚Know CPR for children and adults.

Additional tips if a child is missing-check all places with water FIRST!

Require your child to ask for and receive permission before entering the water.

Have a 1:1 adult to child ratio in the Water.

Put away and store all pool/water toys when pool time is over.

Permanently seal off or remove pet doors.

Move any tables and chairs, AWAY from the pool fence.

Drowning doesn’t just happen at your own home. Caregivers homes, birthday parties, house sitting for a friend, vacation homes….water is everywhere and these little ones can slip away quickly without anyone noticing.
