Congratulations to Myra Arvig for winning the Handicap Championship this past weekend at the Minneapolis Gun Club. It took 23 years but so proud to be able to put the first female name on the Handicap Championship Plaque. A few folks braved the weather on Sunday to shoot the 200 singles. We waited for the rain to stop or slow down but the wind kept blowing. Congratulations to Elias Daugherty for posting a 194 to lead the pack for high gun. Elias is a high school shooter for Rosemount High School and broke a 100 straight in the MSHSL Clay Target State Tournament team competition held on Friday at the Minneapolis Gun Club. Great job Elias and good luck at Nationals!

The Minneapolis Gun Club hosted the MSHSL Clay Target State Tournament on Friday, June 26, 2026. This high school trap tournament consisted of a team competition in the morning where 40 of the top performing teams competed. The individual competition followed in the afternoon where the top 100 males and the top 25 females competed for top honors. Congratulations to all the winners! Fortunately, the weather was beautiful for the athletes and their many supporters to enjoy the day. Thank you to the all the volunteers and the MGC staff who helped make the tournament a great success.

This Saturday, April 4, is the Final Jackpot Trap Shoot of the season. Those of you who have entered 20 times or more are eligible for the Final Jackpot added money. If you don’t have 20 entries in, come on out, you’re still eligible for the regular lewis class payouts. This is a great way to get some practice in and everyone has a chance to win. See you tomorrow! Also, we will be closed on Sunday so Mark and staff can celebrate Easter with their family. 🐣

Want to be like Mike? Look no further than Mike Peck and Mike Gunderson! They dominated, with Mike Peck sweeping both Class 1 spots and Mike Gunderson taking both Class 2 spots. Great job, guys!!!! It's on to the Finale next week. See you all at the club on April 4th, starting at 10am.

Nine 25 straights today. Derek Fischer had a few, Mike Peck had a few, and Matt Bickell, David Michaelis, Tom Lewic, and Mike Gunderson had one. Great shooting all of you.

The weather was at least above zero last weekend so shooters bundled up and shot some jackpot trap! Mike Gunderson and Mike Peck both broke 25 on the same squad of 16 yd but the handicap was a different story. Only one handicap score started with a “2”. Congrats for the 20 and the win David Drill!
