Join us for a motorcoach day trip to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Museum in Dayton!

We'll leave from Seldom Seen Park at 10:00am, make a quick stop at Buccee's, spend about 2.5 hours at the museum and then stop at Young's Jersey Dairy in Yellow Springs for an early dinner. We will return to Seldom Seen Park at 5:30pm.

Whether you're a history buff, aviation enthusiast, or looking for an engaging experience for the whole family, the museum offers free admission, extensive exhibits, and interactive attractions. From flight simulators to educational tours, there's something for everyone at the world’s largest military aviation museum. Come learn, explore, and be inspired!

Welcome to Powell Parks & Recreation RecSchool – Where Learning Meets Play!
Our community-based, drop-off program offers a warm and engaging environment where young learners thrive through play-based exploration and meaningful connection.

Children will spend 2.5 hours each day participating in enriching activities that promote school readiness and social-emotional development. Each session includes free play, circle time, arts & crafts, snack time, large motor activities, and—weather permitting—outdoor play. Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed, incorporating the Orton-Gillingham approach for letter and sound recognition and a strong emphasis on rich, diverse literature.

Led by experienced teachers with degrees in early childhood education, Powell RecSchool is perfect for preschoolers and kindergartners. Our flexible programming complements other early childhood schedules. Families can customize their week with options like RecSchool on Tuesdays & Thursdays and Parents’ Morning Out on Wednesdays—we’re happy to work with you to find the best fit!

🌳🍦 Celebrate National Parks and Recreation Month with us! 🍦🌳

This July, Powell Parks & Recreation is teaming up with Johnson's Real Ice Cream to reward kids for doing what summer is all about, getting outside and having fun!

Beginning Monday, July 13, our Parks Maintenance team will be on the lookout for children who are "Caught Being Cool" while playing in Powell's parks and playgrounds. Kids who are outside, unplugged, active, and enjoying our beautiful parks may receive a FREE ice cream coupon courtesy of Johnson's Real Ice Cream!

The "Caught Being Cool" initiative will run through the end of July, so get outside, explore, play, and you just might earn a sweet treat!

Join MAD Scientist Associates, LLC at Seldom Seen Park from 6:30pm - 7:30pm, explore the wetlands and learn about all of the cool creatures that call it home.
This program is free for all ages - dress for mess and wet feet!

Pack your park blanket and your favorite book, grab a DORA beverage and snack from a local business, and meet us on the Village Green Sunday June 7, 11:00am-1:30am. Read on the Green will feature a community book swap (bring some take some), reading in community, and Delaware County District Library will be there to make signing up for a library card a cinch. Not sure there is anything better!
So simple it may be confusing. Come read in the park with your friends and neighbors. No assigned reading. No pressure. ALL are welcome. All book formats encouraged. Always free.

Brazilian United Soccer Camp

Ages 8 - 14

Brazilian Soccer Camp is open to all kids ages 8 to 14, regardless of skill level. The camp focuses on developing technical soccer skills through engaging cultural activities, mini-tournaments, and lots of fun. Participants will make friends, learn new skills from professional Brazilian soccer coaches, and receive a customized evaluation card at the end of camp. Adapted for each age group, the program promotes distinct personal and sports development with the approach.

🌿🧪 Wetland Wednesday is back with MAD Scientist Associates, LLC! Join City of Powell Parks & Recreation as families explore the wetlands at Seldom Seen Park on Wednesday, May 27 from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Discover nature, get hands-on with fun activities, and learn all about the amazing wetland ecosystem.
