✨ Meet Miss Alyson! ✨

Alyson graduated from Wittenberg University with a B.A. in Psychology and a Dance minor, and later completed graduate studies in Clinical Counseling at The Ohio State University.

In 2006, she founded Powell Dance Academy with the support of family and friends, with a mission to create a positive, supportive space for dancers of all ages to grow and thrive. 🤍

Her passion is Modern dance, and she has trained in techniques including Graham, Cunningham, Taylor, and Horton, studying with renowned artists such as Carmen De Lavallade and others. Her choreography has been recognized at both regional and national competitions.

Alyson’s teaching focuses on strong modern foundations, musicality, and improvisation—helping students develop confidence, creativity, and their own unique movement style.

Outside the studio, she enjoys time with her husband Corey and their four children, as well as painting.

We are so lucky to have Miss Alyson’s passion, creativity, and vision at the heart of Powell Dance Academy! ✨
