βWatch a cat as it gradually prepares to rise after a nap, leisurely stretching its forepaws (with extended claws). Observe closely how all its back muscles actually ripple as it stretches and relaxes itself. Contrology exercises emphasize the need for this constant stretching and relaxing.β

π can you Imagine moving the carriage as an elephant either:
π weighted and grounded through your hands and feet while lengthening your back between those points?
- or -
ππ as an elephant being hoisted into the air by a hoist around your belly and barely being able to touch your toenails to the mat?
Which one workβs best with your active imagination?
Comment π or ππ
p.s. did you know that there was no elephant exercise in Joe Pilates original reformer series? Especially none with heels down!

In group classes itβs easy to get caught up in how things look; comparing shapes, worrying if youβre doing it βright,β or wondering what others are thinking
But Pilates isnβt a performance.
No oneβs grading you.
The real work is internal.
Itβs about noticing how a movement feels in ππππ body. The steadiness of your breath, the level of your effort, the depth of your control, all ππππ sensations.
That awareness (hello, interoception π) is where all the best benefits live.
So soften the urge to copy, perfect, or impress.
Turn your attention inward.
Move in a way that makes sense for πππ for today.
Because Pilates isnβt about how it looks from the outside,
itβs about how it lands ππ πππ πππππ
