Birth stories that only reflect one kind of body, one kind of family, one kind of outcome.
Cues in a perinatal yoga class that don’t take into account bio mechanical changes in pregnancy for a diversity of bodies.
That everyone is “healed” and ready to resume life full speed ahead at 6 weeks postpartum.
Language used in a perinatal yoga class that assumes everyone in the room is a cis-woman having a “joyful pregnancy”.
Pain or symptoms being dismissed as “normal” without being investigated.
If you’re tired of these things being the norm, and you want to learn more about prenatal and postpartum yoga and movement, we are holding a training this fall that looks at these things through an alternative and holistic lens.

✨
Perinatal Yoga Training: For Movement Professionals and others who Support Birthers
We are offering a three part training at
These are 3 distinct workshops that can be bundled for a well-rounded introduction to prenatal and postpartum care. These workshops are designed for yoga and movement teachers, as well as those supporting people through pregnancy and postpartum—including doulas, midwives, chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, counselors, and acupuncturists.
Together, these workshops explore how movement, body awareness, and education can support the experience of growing, birthing, and recovering from having a baby. The series moves from foundational concepts into more in-depth prenatal and postpartum applications.
Workshops can be taken individually, though each one builds on the last. Participants are encouraged to attend the full series for deeper integration. Shana and Megan look forward to sharing their passion and their combined expertise of over 40 years of supporting people who birth.
Please bring:
Something to take notes with; a notebook and pen or pencil
