Port Washington Yacht Club The purpose of the Port Washington Yacht Club, Inc. F. Schanen Jr., as an organization to work for improvements to the the then dangerous Port Washington harbor.

of Port Washington, Wisconsin (PWYC) is to serve the interest of boat owners, to act as a social and service club. The Port Washington Yacht Club was established in 1956 by a group of pleasure boaters headed by Harbor Master Alfred Freese and Wm. In 1972, an old bathhouse located on the beach one block north of the marina, was leased from the city and converted to the present clubhouse. It has a bar and kitchen facilities, a lounge and large social area with dining tables and a dance floor. The building was recently purchased from the city, and is fully owned by its members.

On this week's cover: This S.S. Minnow is a Venetian Night winner, not a shipwreck. Tom and Shirley Dekker’s sailboat Bravo was turned into the S.S. Minnow and crewed by the cast of “Gilligan’s Island” to win first place in the dockside judging category of the Port Washington Yacht Club’s Venetian Night event on Sunday.
