American Supercamp August 29-30, 2026 Report

This past weekend we were in Owensboro Kentucky for American Supercamp. I was supposed to have done this camp back in the spring, but my wrist injury conflicted and I wasn’t able to. It worked out wonderful because we were able to have almost the whole team do it with me. Because we went to the one in KY, we had some awesome coaches: Danny Walker, JD Beach, Nick, Dallas, and Beckem Daniels, Luke Baird, and Oliver Hartley. I’m sure I’m missing someone. I learned a lot listening to everyone and the way they coach, being from different backgrounds and current disciplines. Thanks so much to Danny Walker for letting us stay at his house and use his track. I really enjoyed it, hopefully we can do it again soon!

Day 1: Small flat track oval
For the first part of the day we were learning proper flat track body position and were on the small flat track oval for the riding time. This was fun to learn what flat track is all about. Most of the drills were simple, riding both directions, sometimes with only one hand on the bar. I did learn how to use the rear brake all the way through the turns, but never quite got the full slide. But riding on a flat track in the dark with bright lights is awesome!

Day 2: Small TT shaped track.
We started the day learning how to use the front brake as well as the rear. When we went riding we were on a little track with four or five turns. The way we were riding was similar to the day before but with more turns and straights. The last session of the day was the best! We got to ride with all the coaches, who were having fun riding at little more up to pace. Learning from those guys is a super cool experience.

Doug is one of our mechanics and has always restored all of our family's fiberglass bodywork since we started our racing journey. But with the team bikes included, the repairs have multiplied. So, since the NSF needed some repairs, he came down to teach us how to do it also. Thank you Doug! We so appreciate you ❤️

Talladega Grand Prix Raceway August 15-16 Race Report

This past weekend we were at Tally GP for my last WERA round before National Finals in October. It was extremely hot both days with temps over a hundred and VERY humid. This was another Saturday endurance weekend. I helped Mark Morrow Road Race School team with the fire extinguisher for pit stops, thankfully we did not use it. The riders were Mark Morrow and Jacob McCall. They did awesome for how hot it was. This weekend was also the first time I was able to see the new bike I'm riding for the 2027 season! We will be debuting it soon. Thanks so much to Tris and Gulf Point Advisors and to JD for bringing it to us a few weeks early.

Race Day: There was only one day of sprints, Sunday. Minis only had one practice session before the race, so I felt like I didn't really get a chance to work on too much from the rider side of things. Unfortunately, this was my DNF (Did Not Finish) of the season, with a crash in turn three in the grass. The bike and I are totally fine. It was my fault, I was in too deep trying to pass on the outside after I had been warned I was approaching the edge of my tire and needed to get off the bike more and not push the front so hard in that turn. The front of the bike started moving and chattering around and I went too wide. I stood it up, ran off, and I dropped it in the grass. I did get it up and make it to the checkers. But it still ended up as a DNF because I didn't go through tech on pit lane before continuing the race. I have learned what I need to do next time. Sadly, the race was also red flagged after checkers because of a bad crash in turn five, hopefully everyone will be okay and wishing a speedy recovery.

All in all, I was disappointed in the way things turned out, but it was a good weekend together with the team. Thanks to Max and Carolyn for all the help and support over the weekend. Thanks to all our sponsors! We can't do the things we are doing without your support.

2026 MotoAmerica Mini Cup Recap:

Reese had a successful Mini Cup Stock 110 weekend! This was a big race for Reese. Last year during practice Reese was involved in a racing incident crash with another rider and ended up breaking her femur. This year was all about redemption! She was committed from one year ago to go back and redeem herself and ride and conquer her fear to continue racing.
Reese started off Friday practice a bit timid had a low side on her second or third lap in practice 1…which is exactly what happened to her a year ago. She overcame it and set her fastest lap in that same session. She continued to improve working on gearing, line selection and body position.
Day 1 was an overall success in the fact that she put some good lap times in, crashed and still was positive. Saturday morning qualifying sessions she continued to improve and in the races she ended up with 15th and 17th for Day 1 of races.
Day 2, rain was in the forecast. We started off with Q1 dry and she did very well as she likes layout B, it is a backwards track layout. She did very well. Q2 session was in the wet. We switched over to rain tires and it was her first time really riding in the rain. She did phenomenal! She was one of the only ones that did not go down and set some very consistent lap times as she continued to learn gear ratios going back up the hill. Race 1 and Race 2 on Sunday were very gratifying for Reese, as she continued to improve on her lap times and was catching other riders in front of her one at a time. For an 11 year old with serious trama the year before, she certainly overcame her fear and we couldn’t be prouder! She rode well smooth and consistent.
The competition was very fierce this year with 19 riders in the stock 110 class making it the largest class of the grid. The talent that is involved in that group is phenomenal. It is very exciting to see 8 to 12-year-olds riding as they do and it is a bright future for MotoAmerica and US championship!
Reese is looking forward to a couple of weeks of being a kid and enjoying summer before she has surgery September 4th, to remove the rod and four screws that are still in her leg. She did not want to be down and not race this year so we all made the decision, with Reese agreeing, that we should wait until after this year‘s races to get her surgery done. We are very proud of her for her accomplishments and we want to thank Themiscyra Racing for the opportunity and we are so grateful to be part of this exciting team. We look forward to recovery in September and getting back on track for training, and looking forward to next years events.
YouTube is finally up with race 1,2,3 and 4 and some qualifying. Reese gets some pretty cool airtime with a lot of positive talks from the announcers. We look forward to seeing you on track soon!

Themiscyra Racing is proud to announce our newest rider: Reese

My name is Reese Ruette #23. I am an 11 year old road racer. I have been riding for 4 years and have been racing for the past 2 years. I currently race in the SFL MiniGP and MotoAmerica Mini Cup. I am excited to announce that I am part of Themiscyra Racing. I have been racing in the stock 110 class on my Kawasaki KLX 110 RL. I recently just started training on my Ohvale GP0 160, which I will also be racing next season.

I am very happy to have met my new female teammates. I really enjoyed riding with you all last weekend! I am also looking forward to the Motoamerica Mini Cup Finale at Road America coming up in August.

CMP Kart Track Report, July 18, 2026

We were at CMP Kart Track this past Saturday and it was really hot. This was our first time having all the Themiscyra riders there at the same time. It was awesome to see the continued growth in the team on and off track. We have a new announcement coming up, so stay tuned for that!

I'm continuing to learn the bike. I'm working on my lines and what works best on the track. It's been great to be able to pick up where I left off at the last track day. It was hard at the beginning of the day with it being so hot and coming off Roebling last weekend. Roebling is a flowy track, but CMP Kart Track is really tight compared to Roebling. I was re-learning how to handle the bike in lower gears and tight turns with hard braking corners. All and all it was a great day. Despite the heat, there was a great turn out as always. Carolyn Race Report - RRR
This weekend was a tough one for my family all around. For the very first time, Max and I split tracks. Friday (his birthday!) we parted ways and he and our friend Eric headed for VIR, while Doug and I headed south to Roebling Road. This came with its own challenges, including the logistics of where we would stay and what we would eat as Max had our camper trailer and we had Doug’s smaller trailer. But the Steed’s were so great and stepped right in to make sure we were covered and had everything we needed. Max’s challenges came more in things that were forgotten at home and weather and communication struggles throughout the weekend. Cheyenne, who was meant to arrive in Savannah on Fri, was delayed flying out of Little Rock and did not arrive until Sat night.

For myself, this was also my first races back on track since GNF last Oct. I did do a test run the weekend before at VIR (though certainly not at pace), which was my first time back on a motorcycle since Nov. All I can say is, recovering from injury/surgery is hard. I’ve followed the instructions, the PT, the training, and felt like I should have been good to go. However, I took off in first practice following some friends and as soon as I tipped in to turn 1 and loaded my knee, there was immediate sharp pain. Not knowing whether I’d caused damage or not, I pulled back into the pits feeling very upset and frustrated. But that didn’t last long, as the team rallied around me and encouraged me. Jessica challenged me to keep going; if I can’t do it at race pace, then we’ll change the plan, change my riding position, and run it like a track day. We go out and have fun and we don’t give up. RC, Cheyenne, and Doug encouraged me and cheered me on and helped me prepare for the next practice. In the end, I completed both my races in Mini Formula and E Superstock, with an assist (thanks Gabe!) after I stalled the ohvale and was unable to kickstart it due to my knee. But honestly, I couldn’t tell you where I finished in either race. What meant more to me was being back out there, completing the races, and being told by so many people that they were glad to see me back. Seriously, the best people around!

Afterwards, I spoke to several wonderful racers who shared their experiences with coming back from injuries and the common frustrating struggle of how much more time it took them to be fully recovered than they thought or hoped it would. But it does come back, one step at a time. So that’s what we’ll do, one small step at a time, with the support of an excellent team that pushes each other forward to the best we can be 👊
