MMA brings multiple combat sports together into one complete system.

Muay Thai and boxing for striking. Wrestling for takedowns and control. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for grappling and submissions. Training MMA teaches you how to put those skills together and use them in different situations.

There’s a reason MMA has become one of the most popular combat sports in the world. It’s challenging, teaches practical self defense skills, and gives you a full body workout that will get you into shape.

Whether your goal is to compete, learn how to defend yourself, or simply find a different way to train, MMA has something to offer.

Our JWMA fighters take their MMA training from the mats to the cage, putting their striking, wrestling, and BJJ skills to the test.

Trinidad started training with us four years ago and was initially concerned that a language barrier might make it difficult for her to learn.

That didn’t stop her. She kept showing up, learning, and challenging herself. Today, she trains in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and MMA, has competed, and is part of our Demo Team.

It’s been great watching Trinidad gain confidence in herself and her skills through training.

Being a good training partner is a skill too.

In BJJ, kids quickly learn that they need each other to improve. They take turns practicing techniques, communicate with their partner, work together, and learn how to give the right amount of resistance.

They also learn responsibility. When you train with someone, you have to take care of your partner, respect when to stop, and understand that both of you are there to get better.

All of that interaction helps kids develop teamwork, communication, and social skills while learning how to work with different personalities.

Learning a takedown also means learning control. Kids practice how to execute the technique safely, protect their training partner, and help each other improve.

Alan continues to make BJJ a priority in his life.

Like a lot of us, he has a career, a family, and a busy schedule, but he still finds time to invest in himself. Since starting BJJ, he’s lost 50 pounds, gained confidence, improved his mobility, and recently added striking to his training.

BJJ has become nonnegotiable for Alan, and that consistency shows. His dedication continues to drive his progress both on and off the mats.

Annarika’s kids started training with us first, and more recently she decided it was her turn to step onto the mats.

Like many people, Annarika was a little hesitant at first. But once she started training consistently, her confidence grew and her skills improved right along with it.

Today you’ll find her training in Muay Thai and MMA, always willing to learn and challenge herself.

It’s been great watching your progress, Annarika. Keep up the great work!

“What do we listen with?” 👂

It may seem like a simple question, but moments like this are part of how we keep our younger students engaged and involved throughout class.

Kids ages 5 to 7 are developing their coordination, motor skills, attention span, and ability to follow instructions. Our Basic Ninjas classes are structured specifically for this stage of their development. We keep them moving, ask questions, get them involved, and make sure they’re having fun along the way.

Paying attention when someone is speaking, following directions, staying on task, and learning how to control their body are all practiced regularly on the mats.

They’re developing martial arts skills while reinforcing habits that carry into the classroom, home, and everyday life.

One last highlight for Ryan Lai

Ryan made a positive impact on our team from the start. He gave 100% every training session, was always a great training partner, willing to help others, and became an awesome coach for our members.

We’re grateful for the time he spent with us and everything he contributed to our team.

We all train for different reasons. For some, the goal is to compete.

Our Fight Team is made up of active amateur and professional fighters who attend regular classes along with dedicated fight team training.

We’re always looking for new talent. We look for consistency, the right attitude, good training partners, and fighters who are coachable.

Wishing Coach Ryan all the best with his move!

Ryan has been an awesome part of our coaching team, always bringing great energy to class and motivating our members to keep improving.

Before leaving, Ryan had one more goal he wanted to check off: step into the cage. He made his kickboxing debut at Combat Night and came away with his first win.

Thank you, Ryan, for everything you’ve brought to our team. Good luck with the move and whatever comes next!
