Carlos Navarro- Olympian and Former world #1 : My honest review of the 2026 AAU National Championships. This is not a sponsored video, it is my review of what I thought was a great event! I recently retired from being an athlete and established my own academy in Plano, Texas. This is only my second year in the United States taekwondo community and I have been impressed by the quality of competition and level of professionalism that the AAU Nationals has provided.
I am a person that has always been open minded and loves when events are done right with positivity at the center of it, regardless of the club, organization, or politics.
In this case we had a great experience in this particular event, and wanted to share my thoughts. Let’s keep innovating for the better of taekwondo in the USA! AAU Taekwondo

Our new NATIONAL CHAMPION - Alesito!
With only 2 years since he started taekwondo, Alesito took the National Championship title after dominating 3 matches all by point gaps!
Alesito is living proof that you are NEVER TOO OLD to start Taekwondo, you are NEVER TOO OLD to compete, and you are NEVER TOO OLD to challenge yourself.
Congratulation to Alesito for this accomplishment and brining another National title to our academy! 🥇

Carlos Navarro: What an incredible time for our academy! We’ve just wrapped up our second national championship—a historic milestone for us—bringing home 4 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze medals! Some of our athletes had to fight through brackets of four or even five matches to get there. Our training system works and is giving results!
I’ll keep saying it: the key to our success at CN is positivity, mindset, modernization, high-quality training, dedication and passion for the sport, and attention to detail.
In just two years since opening our doors, we’ve built a community that is unique, distinct, modern, and positive.
What makes this so special to me is that we built it all from scratch in just two years. We didn’t have a track record or a ready-made academy waiting for me when I retired from competition. We literally started without a single student and with no presence (as an academy) in the U.S. community.
Today, CN continues to grow, driven by a love for Taekwondo—because passion and dedication are contagious and clearly visible. Thank you all for your support; this is just the beginning.
When you do things with passion, determination, and a good heart, the results will come sooner or later.

Our new NATIONAL CHAMPION - Eva! Life works in mysterious ways! From being scared to do our sparring program ➡️to being the best fighter in the USA!
With a dominating performance took the gold medal that she lost last year in the finals! This comeback marks the resilience and mental toughness that she has!
Last year was Eva’s first nationals with only 6 months of sparring experience. She unfortunately lost in the final and took home the silver. During the whole year: Eva was working hard to get back and take the gold in this year’s competition! After an extremely hard year and specially hard month of training, Eva showed up with a great attitude and took the national title!
As a side note:
When Eva started taekwondo, and was in our beginner (non contact) program: she initially denied the jump to the sparring program because she was uneasy and scared about doing sparring. With the parent’s determination for her to face challenges and things that made their daughter fearful: they enrolled her in the sparring program where she thrived immediately and has so much fun doing so! This just shows that PARENTS WILLINGNESS AND DECISIONS CAN DRASTICALLY CHANGE THE COURSE OF THEIR KID’S lIFE. If Eva had never tried sparring, she wouldn’t be the BEST FIGHTER IN THE COUNTRY today. Sometimes all it takes is to have our kids face challenges.
