EFFORT > TALENT
In baseball, talent might get you noticed — but effort is what keeps you on the field.
Talent is natural. Effort is a decision. Every. Single. Day.
The talented player shines when things are going well. The player built on effort shows up when it’s 95 degrees, when he’s 0-for-3, when practice feels repetitive, and when nobody is watching. That player still sprints on and off the field. Still runs out every ground ball. Still takes extra reps. Still listens. Still adjusts. Still supports his teammates.
Talent can win moments.
Effort wins seasons.
Over time, the athlete who embraces failure, attacks weaknesses, and stays consistent will pass the athlete who relies only on ability. Baseball is a long journey. Slumps happen. Errors happen. Growth takes time.
But effort? Effort is controllable.
And in this game, the player who controls what he can control always has the edge.
