Grateful to see our work featured in Pittsburgh’s Public Source through an interview with our Program Director, Aaron Erb. The article highlights how we work by equipping frontline professionals with tools to intervene before harm occurs. As Aaron shared, “We talk to people in that space where no one else knows what to do.” That “middle space” is where we focus our efforts: building trust, recognizing early warning signs, and offering coaching to prevent people from being pulled into violent extremism.

💡 Violence Prevention Network USA equips human service professionals with the tools to recognize early warning signs, intervene safely, and support individuals before violence occurs. We focus on the critical “middle space”—when someone is showing signs of radicalization, but law enforcement is not yet involved, and people around them don’t know how to respond. The training is grounded in over 20 years of field-tested methodology, with a track record of supporting over 5000 individuals in disengaging from violent extremist movements.

In March 2025, Violence Prevention Network USA brought together an extraordinary group of frontline professionals in Pittsburgh for our RESTORE training — a full week of deep, hands-on learning focused on the disengagement from extremist violence and the power of human connection.
Our training equips social workers, mental health professionals, educators, law enforcement, and community leaders with concrete tools and frameworks for working with individuals vulnerable to violent extremism. We believe that real change happens when people are empowered, connected, and supported.
