43 quietly slipped onto the scene 2 weeks ago.
Although 42 felt overwhelming at times due to the health challenges Ive previously talked about, I realized that those issues are NOTHING compared to what I COULD be dealing with had I not made the decision 11 years ago to join a gym to lose weight and improve my health.
That singular decision saved me from going down the road of more serious metabolic diseases and instead put me on a path to living a strong, healthy, and active lifestyle, where my body weathers current storms, not sinks me.
Goodbye 42! You were tough but before you go, here’s to counting the blessings from the last year and celebrating some of the fun and new adventures you brought…
•Setting new PRs in the gym and building more muscle.
•Spending time in Pittsburgh with friends and family going to hockey games, fundraising galas, yoga events, shows in the cultural district, my first polo match, first toga party, and first boating adventure on the Allegheny river!
•Biking the entire Montour Trail, which resulted in two of my longest rides ever at 40 miles and 55 miles.
•First time rock climbing on an adventure at the .
•Watching my best friend become a mom and becoming a Godmother!
•NC adventures visiting friends, attending our event, and going to the NC Renaissance Faire where I got that awesome feather headpiece!
•Playing tour guide for my DC friends who came to visit Pittsburgh!
•Celebrating my cousin getting married.
•Slowing down (as much as I can 🤣) by chasing more sunrises and sunsets, spending quiet nights by the fire, listening to live music, trying new foods, watching fireworks year round, and even reading some books!
•Attending programs at church that brought new friends.
•Buying an obscene number of plants.
Sláinte 43! You’re going to be quite a year!

I'm excited to be kicking off the Spring Seminar Series at the Gestalt Institute of Pittsburgh with my seminar on the role of the gut, the gut microbiome, and nutrition in mental health. If you are or know someone who is a LPC, Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist and are interested in attending, you can register here: https://gestaltpittsburgh.org/seminars/
Note that this seminar is intended to provide an introductory awareness on the links between the gut, gut microbiome, and nutrition in mental health to help Gestalt providers identify holistic strategies that may be beneficial in supporting their client’s/patient’s clinical and therapeutic treatments, particularly in cases where treatment resistance is occurring. These strategies are not intended to be interpreted as a diagnosis, cure, or treatment for any medical disease, illness, injury, or ailment, as these would require clinical intervention.

Food intolerances aren’t a trend — they’re your body’s way of asking for help.
Bloating, fatigue, skin issues, brain fog? They’re not normal, it’s your body sending you signals. Are you paying attention?
As hard and overwhelming as treating poor gut health can seem, living with gut issues long term can have serious consequences like nutrient malabsorption, vitamin, and mineral deficiencies, which can lead to hormonal, metabolic, neuronal, mental, and cardiovascular issues.
However, I can help you!

Want to improve your mental health? Start with the food choices you make!
Without key amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, we can’t make the neurotransmitters that help regulate our mood, circadian rhythm, gut function, and more!
In turn, we need a healthy gut to transport those nutrients to where they need to go.
The food we eat directly impacts our mood, appetite, sleep, and the food choices we make because its all connected.
If you want to see long term sustainable change in your health you just cant look at one piece.

The best client feedback! 🥹
2.5 years ago I attended my first event and got to spend some time with these amazing coaches who have become friends.
We spent hours that weekend talking about our programs and how we work with our clients. At the time I was really struggling with helping some of my clients. These amazing ladies gave me some great advice which resulted in me completely redesigning my program.
Fast forward to last week. I was talking with one of my current clients who had worked with me under the old program and recently came back to work with me.
As we talked she made a comment about how she loves the program so much better this time around. The workouts are better for her, shes increasing weights, the nutrition while still a challenge is getting easier, and she doesn’t feel as overwhelmed this time around! 🙌🏻
Along with that progress, she is also down 7.5 lbs, and has lost 1 inch in her waist and 2.5 inches in her hips in just 4 weeks.
I am forever grateful for the knowledge and coaching skills Ive gained from the program and for being part of a community of coaches who support with each other because without them I wouldn’t be here today.
Together we are changing lives.
