Can't let a vacation stay at an Airbnb perfect a workout. The finished basement was a perfect spot to rock 'n roll. My yoga mat & resistance band are always in the suitcase!

GOING TO YOUR RESPECTIVE CORNER

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).

I often tell saints who have just faced a major trial that the Christian life is sometimes like a boxing match. We step into the ring of faith and face real opponents — loss, sickness, discouragement, disappointment, or even our own weariness. Round after round, we keep swinging, trying to stay on our feet. But even the best fighters know that they can’t stay in the center of the ring forever. After taking a few hits, the boxer returns to his corner — not to quit, but to recover. In that quiet space, his trainer tends to his wounds, gives him water, and reminds him of his strategy. Then, when the bell rings again, he rises renewed and ready to fight another round.

In the same way, God calls His children to come to their respective corners — moments of rest in His presence. It’s there that He wipes away our tears, restores our strength, and reminds us that the battle is not ours, but His. Taking time to “sit out a round” in prayer isn’t weakness — it’s wisdom. When life lands a few punches, don’t keep swinging in your own strength. Step aside and let the Lord refresh your spirit. Because when you rest in Him, you’ll be ready to get back up and fight the good fight of faith.

Let us go to the Throne of Grace,

Lord, when the battles of life wear me down, remind me to come to my corner — to sit in Your presence and find my strength again. Refresh me with Your Spirit, heal my bruised heart, and prepare me to step back into the ring of life with renewed faith and courage.
Amen.
