Last night, Joe earned his second stripe on his white belt, and this one means a little more.
Joe trained consistently for six months before suffering a serious accident outside of the gym that required surgery and a long rehabilitation.
For a lot of people, something like that could easily become the reason they stop training altogether.
Joe looked at it differently.
During his nine months of rehabilitation, Joe continued to work. He would send me videos and pictures of himself training, always working toward one goal: getting back on the mats.
About three months ago, Joe was finally able to return to training with us, and he’s been putting in the work ever since.
So last night, when he earned that second stripe, it represented a lot more than just time spent training.
It represented resilience, discipline, and refusing to quit.
Proud of you, Joe. Keep putting in the work. 👊
