TECHNIQUE TUESDAY 🌺 | LET’S TALK ABOUT FLOW

One of the things I love teaching massage therapists is that flow isn’t simply about making long, beautiful strokes.

True flow happens when your hands, body, breath, rhythm, and transitions begin working together.

Here’s something to practice at your table this week:

Instead of thinking about each technique as a separate movement, pay attention to how one movement leads into the next.

✨ Where does your hand go after the stroke ends?
✨ Are you breaking contact unnecessarily?
✨ Are you moving your whole body or making your arms and hands do all the work?
✨ Does your rhythm feel intentional and consistent?

TECHNIQUE TIP:
Choose one area of the body and practice for three minutes without breaking contact. Slow down. Move around the table. Let your body weight create the pressure and see how smoothly you can transition from one technique into another.

That is where massage begins to feel less like a collection of techniques and more like an experience.

And THAT is a big part of the art of Lomi Lomi. 🌺
