We had a fun weekend of racing in Surprise, Arizona at the fantastic new Oasis Aquatics Center !

The weather was brutal!! Our TEAM had a cooler and stronger mental disposition . The low temperature for the entire 4 day weekend was 93F and every day it surged to 115F !! We endured a beastly haboob, lightning, etc...

It is great to know how our TEAM maintained the best attitude, with excellent results under the most adverse conditions. Our Pitchfork Aquatics Family is strong, cooperative, resilient, loving, inclusive, kind and always ready for action. Thank you to our parents and to our swimmers for trusting and following the process.

Our swimmers accomplished Personal Best Times with excellent fitness, mental disposition, technical, choreographed strategic racing improvements.

Briggs, Mia, Alisia, Liam and Declan were ready for EVERYTHING !

I will highlight how Declan MacEachran took his racing to another level. His 1500 free performance qualified him for the Junior National Championships to be celebrated in Austin, Texas this coming December!! His gold medal time of 16:13.97 ranks him #4 in the USA for 13-14 swimmers.

Declan's gold medals in the 200 free (1:57,74), 400 free (4:07,65) , 800 free (8:32,67) and 200 backstroke also come with top 10 National rankings.

Declan quietly won the Arizona Senior Open Champiinships 1500 free last month at U of A Natatorium.

Declan's volume of consistent HAPPY training, determination, discipline, dedication, selflessness, devotion to his TEAMMATES, and kindness to all reminds me of Eric Namesnik and also of Mona Nyheim-Canales
