Peak height is very closely correlated with wind performance.
The highest ball flight (131 mph / 19° / 7000 rpm) loses 15 more yards than the lowest ball flight (123 mph / 16° / 5000 rpm) into a 20-mph headwind.

Understanding the influence of wind is critical to playing golf at the highest level.
With the help of modelling, we can estimate the effect of a 10-mph wind on a standard PGA Tour 7-iron ball flight.
Here we've simulated a 10-mph wind at 24 different angles.
A ball can put on the brakes and parachute straight down into a headwind.
This is into a simulated 45-mph headwind using the golf balls in the Ballnamic database.

When capturing driver performance in full (including ball speed, launch, spin, and aerodynamic differences between balls), we see a 15.6-yard range in carry distance and a 23.9-foot range in height.
Grey dots are when only launch and spin are included.

Here’s a view of the effect of varying angles of wind on a PGA Tour 7-iron:
0 & 360 degrees is a tailwind
90 & 270 degrees are crosswinds
180 degrees is a headwind
A good guideline is that a quartering wind (45, 135, 225, 315) has 2/3rds the effect of a straight-on headwind or tailwind.
