We've waited all day for this moment.
Now we finally know when Alabama will welcome the late teenage cancer warrior Will Roberts home.
His mom, Brittney, shared that Will is on his final journey home today. His flight will land in Atlanta early this evening before continuing to Birmingham, where he's expected to arrive around 8 a.m. tomorrow.
As I looked at the flight tracker she shared, I couldn't help but think about everything this young man gave to the world in just the last 18 months during his battle with osteosarcoma.
He taught us that courage isn't the absence of fear.
It's choosing joy anyway.
He taught us that faith isn't pretending everything is okay.
It's believing God is still good when life doesn't make sense.
He taught us that a smile can exist alongside unimaginable pain.
And he reminded thousands of strangers to hug their children a little tighter.
Yesterday, we watched something beautiful happen.
Neighbors tied yellow ribbons.
Utility workers raised an enormous American flag over the road leading home.
Law enforcement officers helped es**rt his family home after 3 months in California for experimental cancer treatment.
A woman named Carrie Brinsden, who began as a stranger in California, became family to the Roberts family, opening her home and her heart when they needed it most.
It was a reminder that sometimes God sends the right people at exactly the right time.
Today, Brittney shared words that every parent will feel deep in their heart.
"The thought of my firstborn making his first and only solo flight across the country is a pain I can't even begin to describe."
Then she wrote something I'll never forget.
"I know this isn't really Will anymore. He is healed and whole. He is walking, running, and worshipping in Heaven... but his earthly body carried the sweetest little boy I've ever known. It held his hugs, his laugh, his ornery grin, and every memory we've made over the last fifteen years."
Tomorrow morning, Alabama won't just be welcoming home a teenage cancer warrior.
It will be welcoming home a son.
A brother.
A friend.
A young man whose faith and courage reached people far beyond the borders of his hometown.
Please continue praying for Brittney, Jason, Charlie, and everyone who loves Will as they take another heartbreaking step in this journey.
And tomorrow morning, as Will returns home one final time, I hope Alabama wraps this family in the same love they've shown them throughout this fight. We've waited all day for this moment.

12-year-old Maya Gebala was a victim of the Tumbler Ridge Secondary School mass shooting.
Her mother said she needed a miracle to survive.
She is now breathing on her own, moving the left side of her tiny body, and is no longer in end-of-life care.
Pray for her full recovery🙏🏾

🙌✝️🔥 Leecy Fink was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, one of the most aggressive forms of the disease.
By the time it was discovered, the tumor was large and had spread to multiple lymph nodes, leading to intensive treatment that included chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, and radiation.
In 2013, the cancer returned.
According to Leecy's testimony, it had spread to her brain and lungs, and another tumor was pressing against her aorta.
She was told her life expectancy was only ‘three to six months’.
During that difficult season, family, friends, and churches came together in prayer.
Christian missionaries from different countries prayed for her, and even children in India sent messages saying they were praying for her recovery.
After months of treatment and prayer, follow-up scans brought unexpected news.
According to Leecy, MRI and CT results showed ‘no evidence of active cancer’ and her oncologist said such an outcome was extremely unlikely.
Today, more than 10 years later, Leecy continues to have no evidence of the disease.
She shares her story as a personal testimony, giving glory to Jesus while encouraging others to hold on to hope, continue praying, and follow their medical treatment ❤️🔥🙏

Alex has had such a rough time since about Sunday night he’s been in so much pain! We are trying to get it under control but it’s just heartbreaking. We want to keep him home, only if we can get his pain under control. We meet with his Drs tomorrow including palliative team and unfortunately hospice. Currently we are Waiting at GI doctor to address Alex’s Gtube. It’s been leaking he also has an infection and granulated tissue around the site that hasn’t cleared up with the antibiotics. I’m so heartbroken! No parent should have to witness their child suffering. For me it’s not only seeing him suffer but I miss his personality, when he is awake he’s crying in pain. Maybe have a glimpse of him for a moment before he cries or falls back asleep. Please pray for comfort no matter what form of comfort I just want him to not be in anymore pain! 😔🎗️🙏💔

‼️ Yesterday, a South Texas mom fighting to stay alive so she could keep raising her murdered sister’s children alongside her own underwent one of the biggest surgeries of her cancer journey.
Today, six children wrapped their arms around the woman they were so afraid of losing.
Many of you have followed Cindy Banda’s story with me over the years. If you’re just hearing about her for the first time, here’s why so many people have been praying for her.
After her sister, Melissa Banda, was kidnapped and murdered in South Texas in 2020, Cindy didn’t hesitate.
She stepped in to raise Melissa’s three children alongside her own.
Then cancer changed Cindy’s life, too.
Last October, Cindy underwent a mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Later, she learned the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes.
Doctors at MD Anderson told her they were deeply concerned the cancer could continue spreading. Because her breast cancer is fueled by estrogen, Cindy underwent a hysterectomy yesterday to remove her uterus and ovaries, hoping to stop the cancer from growing and bring her one step closer to the words she’s been dreaming of hearing.
Cancer free.
This afternoon, Cindy reached back out to me from the hospital.
Her first words were simple.
“Thank God I’m here another day with my babies.”
She told me she’s still hurting.
“I feel really sore and achy all over and I’m still in a lot of pain. At least the nausea has gone away.”
Then she shared the moment she’d been waiting for.
“My kids rushed in to see me as soon as I got home. I got hugs n tears from all of them. They’re so grateful that I’m home and recovering.”
A little while later, she sent me one more message that completely captured what this fight has always been about.
“My little one Kathryn curled up beside me to touch me to make sure I’m here,” she wrote. “I live for these moments.”
After everything Cindy has been through…
After every surgery…
After every fear that cancer might take her away from the children who need her most…
That one deeply personal moment says more than anything else ever could.
Cindy also wanted every one of you to know how much your prayers have meant to her.
“I can never thank you enough for sharing my story and asking for prayers n support. They have been my rock throughout this process, and I’m praying it leads to a cancer-free day.”
She told me she spent today reading your comments after being too sick from pain and nausea to read them yesterday.
“They meant the world to me. Waking up today and reading all the messages filled my heart. I was in and out of it yesterday because of the nausea and pain, but thank God I’m fully awake today.”
For now, the waiting begins again.
Doctors haven’t given Cindy a new prognosis yet. Her next scans are scheduled for November, and she’s praying this surgery has brought her one step closer to hearing the words she’s fought so hard for.
Cancer free.
If you’ve been praying for Cindy, please don’t stop now.
Pray that her pain eases. Pray that her body continues to heal.
And pray that when November arrives, the woman who stepped up to make sure six children would never grow up without love receives the miracle she’s been hoping and praying for.

I wish he didn't have to be so strong. I wish that he could've been a normal 15yr old out fishing, hunting and riding a four wheeler with no cares in the world. I wish he could've gone back to school, spent time with his friends and lived out a long cancer free life.
I sat up tonight thinking about how well spoken and honest he was. I can't help, but to be inspired by his strength, his never ending faith and understanding of what's ahead. I know he was scared, dealt with pain and experienced everything that cancer has to offer. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that he was just an impressive young man. And we seen his character when he took his moms phone to make a video. There was an instant connection. He was open, honest and had us all praying right out of the gate.
Tonight, I prayed for his family. His story and his impact on childhood cancer awareness has only just begun. I hope you continue to share his videos. For someone who didn't have a lot to say, I sure kept typing. Haha. Thank you to Wills family for allowing us to be a part of his journey. Will was 15, but he was more of a man than I will ever be. 🎗🙏💜 This photo below says to me. "Time to rise and fight boys."
