Monsoon season is here! ⛈️
Parts of the Phoenix area recently received a severe thunderstorm warning for destructive winds of up to 80 mph. It was a powerful reminder of how quickly extreme weather can move in and why outdoor structures need to be built for more than sunny days.
Shade structures help keep playgrounds, schools, parks, and gathering spaces cooler while blocking up to 98% of harmful UV rays. But performance matters just as much as comfort.
That’s why every Shade ’N Net structure is engineered around the specific needs of each project. Our structures can be engineered to meet project-specific wind-load requirements of up to 150 mph.
While this warning hit close to home in Arizona, the need for properly engineered shade extends far beyond our state. We provide shade solutions for communities and organizations across the country.
A shade structure is never a storm shelter—always follow National Weather Service guidance and move indoors during severe weather.
Stay safe this monsoon season! 🌵

Shade has the power to completely transform an outdoor space. It’s not just about protection from the sun — it’s about creating a more comfortable, inviting, and elevated experience for the people who use the space.
From pools and hospitality spaces to schools, parks, and commercial properties, custom shade structures help turn outdoor areas into places people actually want to stay, gather, relax, and enjoy.

Outdoor spaces don’t fail all at once.
They usually fail quietly.
People stop sitting there.
Kids avoid the playground when it’s too hot.
Guests leave the pool deck sooner.
Employees skip the courtyard.
Spectators look for shade instead of staying engaged.
That’s why shade planning matters.
A well-designed shade structure does more than block the sun. It helps make outdoor spaces safer, cooler, more comfortable, and more usable year-round.

Our tallest client to date. 🦒
This throwback from our Out of Africa Wildlife Park installation is still one of our favorites. Every project is a little different, and this one happened to include a giraffe just trying to beat the Arizona sun.
Looks like this one was approved by the tallest inspector on site.
