This is a little peek into week 1 of my April Progressive Heels Program ✨

We always start without heels first so my students can feel things out, get more comfortable in their body, and build confidence before adding the extra challenge of heels. Then we slowly work our way into doing it in heels 👠

A big part of why I created this program is because I wanted to give dancers more time to really sit with the movement, build a stronger foundation, and grow over time. That’s something we don’t always get to do in a regular drop-in class. I’m already seeing so much progress from students who are or have taken this program🙏🏽

I’m already really happy with this group 🥹 We have a lot of returning students and a lot of new faces too, and I’m so excited to keep watching their growth over these next few weeks!!

This was my first time teaching a st******se style choreo, and honestly it scared me at first. But we’re all doing the scary things over here, your teacher included 🥹

A lot of you asked for this one to come back, and now class is completely sold out!! I seriously can’t wait to dance with you all.

Student spotlight with Leonyra from March’s progressive program ✨

The video on the left was from a drop-in back in December, the first time she learned this choreography. The video on the right was after 4 weeks of my progressive heels program.

And the difference is so so good 🥹

You can see more confidence, increased body awareness, stronger musicality, stronger lines, textures, more facial expression, and more intention in the spaces between the moves. Instead of rushing through the choreography or second guessing, she looks way more sure of herself. She also even added her own unique and personal flavor to it🥰

Leonyra’s post program reflection:
“As someone who is very new to heels, whenever I come to a drop-in, I feel like I’m mostly mimicking the moves. With the four-week program, I was able to learn the choreography and then figure out how it lives in my body 🌱✨
