Seven classic Southern Nevada events are officially joining the Aravaipa Running calendar!

Expanding alongside our longtime staple, Jackpot Ultras, this addition brings our Nevada lineup to eight annual events across the state, from Sunset Park in Vegas proper to the remote Extraterrestrial Highway.

For nearly two decades, founder Joyce Forier built Calico Racing into a local staple, showcasing the stunning canyons, high desert, and unique landscapes around Las Vegas. While Calico Racing will continue to operate and produce the rest of its event lineup, these seven specific races are officially transitioning to Aravaipa.

Our Mogollon Monster Trail Work + Training Run Weekend is almost here! 🌲

Join us this weekend for an epic weekend on the Mogollon Rim.

On Saturday August 8th we are heading out to the Turkey Springs trail climb for 5-7 hours of trail work starting at 7am. We’ll be helping recover trail that has been damaged by fire and erosion by trimming, raking, and shoveling to help restore the trail.

Meet at Dickenson Flat, about 30 minutes north of Pine on a dirt road, where we’ll walk roughly six tenths of a mile to the work site together. Tools will be provided if you don’t have your own.

Free camping is available right at Dickenson Flat or along See Canyon TH road if you want to make a full weekend of it.

On Sunday August 9th we are lacing up the trail shoes for an epic training run covering miles 11-26 of the 100M course including the beautiful Promontory descent.

Meet at Fish Hatchery at 7am and we’ll carpool to See Canyon TH together. Tough miles, but exactly the kind that matter come race day.

More details including parking coordinates and the Caltopo map can be found on the Facebook event page which is linked in our bio. 🏔️

We’re looking for hardworking, dependable team players who love the outdoors, thrive in hands-on environments, and aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.

Please note that this is a physical, hands-on role requiring heavy lifting (50+ lbs), indoor/outdoor labor, and event setup and breakdown in varying weather conditions. Hours are primarily Friday through Sunday with potential weekday opportunities, and candidates must be local to Arizona with the ability to travel between our warehouse and event sites.

BAD BEARD EVENTS ™️ is officially joining Aravaipa Running!

This series has been the heart of Chattanooga trail running since Stump Jump and River Gorge were founded in 2001. Ginny Smith, who has directed these races for almost a decade, is staying on as Series Director to keep leading the way alongside the same local crew and volunteers.

The races, the trails, and the traditions aren’t changing. Our goal is to keep the unique character of these seven events while elevating the runner experience, all while continuing Bad Beard’s commitment to the local non-profits that protect Chattanooga’s backyard.

Swipe through to check out the upcoming calendar. Find a distance that sounds fun, and come run with us.
