Q: What’s your why for participating in this project?

A: I am participating in this project for the opportunity not only to perform in Europe (though I’m not upset about that outcome) but I’m also doing this to take part in the creation of a new performance art project. The weekly rehearsal process is a moment in my week where I get to be creative and silly and have fun with 7 other women, and somehow out of that process of play, we are making this cool, wholly original piece of art.

Q: What’s your why for participating in this project?

A: This project pushes me out of my comfort zone, and helps motivate me and hold me accountable for so many things that are good for me: moving my body, tapping into my creativity and expression, learning new things, making and maintaining meaningful social connections.

Meet Jojo!

Q: What’s your why for participating in this project?

A: I have always loved dance but I never made it a priority in my adult life. This year, I decided to change that, and I leaned in my dance practice as my primary form of self-care and self-expression. Working in the mental health field, I am often surrounded by the burn-out of both my colleagues and my patients. Dance offers me a pathway out of my head, and to instead have an embodied, emotional experience. I was incredibly excited out the opportunity to create a piece of work and be apart of the choreography process in a way that I have yet to experience the collaborative art-making process as an adult.
