Why does the same ammunition perform differently from different barrel lengths? Expanding gas continues accelerating the bullet while it remains in the barrel, so barrel length can change velocity and performance. Why does a suppressed semi-auto pistol sometimes need a booster?

Many common tilting-barrel pistols rely on barrel movement during cycling. The added mass of a suppressor can interfere with that movement, which is why a booster / Nielsen device is commonly used.

Is smaller always better for concealed carry?

Not necessarily. Smaller handguns can be easier to conceal, but reduced grip area, lighter weight and increased felt recoil can make them more difficult for some shooters to control.

The best carry gun is the one you can carry comfortably and shoot confidently.

The lightest suppressor is not automatically the best fit for every rifle. Weight affects carry and balance, while the complete host and muzzle setup can change perceived recoil. Match the suppressor to the rifle, cartridge, configuration, and intended use. Educational overview; verify the manufacturer’s current ratings and restrictions.

A bullet fitting through the bore doesn't prove the suppressor is rated for the cartridge. Pressure, barrel length, configuration, materials, and manufacturer limits still matter. Clearance isn't permission.
