Pinnacle Wrestling

Registration is now open for the 6th Annual NVRTC Preseason Classic! Open to all HS wrestlers and advanced 8th graders. $35 if you register by 9/21. We will have custom Champion Shirts for our winners and 🏅 for top 4! This is a coach friendly event as entry is free with a valid 26-27 USAW card. We will have AIA refs, TVs and TrackWrestling at all mats and an Athletic Trainer.

ALL Pinnacle Wrestlers (returning and prospects) - Mandatory Preseason Meeting on Thursday, 8/27/26 after school with coach Surdyka. Come have some fun and learn about our wrestling team and how to register for the preseason!

NVRTC and Pinnacle wrestlers and coaches had an awesome wrestling trip to San Diego for the RMN D-Day event. We took 16 kids and NVRTC took 4th at the Freestyle tournament with many placers and a champion. Folkstyle was definitely a different beast but we had 3 wrestlers make it to day 2 in that event. We went to 2 beaches, cooked meals, played games and had a ton of fun in beautiful San Diego. Freestyle Results: Andrew F - 4th, Bryson - 5th, Alex - 4th, Lucas - 6th, Carson - 🥇 , Max - 4th, Drew - 4th, Hunter - 4th, Tommy - 3rd, Mason - 5th, Dylan - 6th, Alana - 2nd, Daria - 3rd (twice), and Finn, Ricky and Ava also wrestled.

Pinnacle will be hosting the 6th NVRTC Preseason Classic on 9/26/26. Mark your calendars as this is going to be a great event. Registration on TrackWrestling will open 9/1/26 to coincide with the new USAW membership year.

We had 2 Pinnacle wrestlers compete at the Manu Chief of War tournament this weekend in Queen Creek with 2 placers. Hunter Whaley took 3rd at 195lbs (pictured). And Max Hewlett took 6th at 115lbs. Great job you two!

Last summer session of Tuesday Night Scraps. We had a good turn out and saw a lot of good gos. Thanks for everyone who came out and got better today!

Last Wrestling Scraps at Pinnacle for the Summer. Come get 10-12 matches (no cost) this Tuesday, 7/21 at 5pm. All ages welcome; just bring your USAW card.

We had 11 Pinnacle Wrestlers get better today by getting in 2 hours of hard wrestling at ALA Gilbert North. The gym was packed with kids and everyone got a ton of matches today. Thanks ALA Gilbert North HS for hosting!
