Work hard, then we play 🤙
If the kids stay focused and put in the work, we usually save the last few minutes of class for a game. Most of them tie into jiu-jitsu one way or another, but they all have one thing in common: lots of smiles, lots of laughs, and maybe a little extra motivation to train hard daily knowing a game is waiting at the end 😂

Training hard doesn’t mean you can’t have fun doing it 😊

A little Head Professor appreciation post. 🖤
Sol wouldn’t be what it is today without Professor Austin Baker. He has poured his heart into this school from day one, sharing his extensive knowledge, techniques, and wisdom with our students every single day.
Running a jiu-jitsu school takes more sacrifice than most people ever see. Long days, late nights, time away from family, competing priorities, and constant work behind the scenes. For the first almost three years, Austin did it all by himself. Coaching every class, running the business, building the culture, and showing up day after day because he believed in what Sol could become.
We’re incredibly fortunate to now have Professor Jonathan and Coach Fred as part of our coaching staff, each bringing so much knowledge and experience to our students and our team.
But it all started right here. An incredible grappler, competitor, coach, and person with a dream to share his jiu-jitsu with the world.
We’re pretty proud of what you built, Professor. And we’re only getting started. ☀️🥋

We don’t just want to know our students’ names — we want to know them.
Building real relationships matters to us because we want every person who walks through our doors to know they have a place here. A place where they’re cared for, supported, and safe. 🤝
That’s what community is supposed to feel like. ❤️🧡💛

Sometimes kids are nervous walking into their first jiu-jitsu class… or their second… or even their third. And sometimes, the parents are just as nervous watching from the sidelines. That’s totally normal.
Jiu-jitsu is a martial art and a combat sport. Your child will be put in positions that feel unfamiliar, challenging, and sometimes uncomfortable. They’ll have someone holding them down, controlling their body, or trying to submit them.
But that’s also the point of what we teach.
We teach kids how to stay calm when they’re uncomfortable. How to escape when someone is controlling them. How to protect themselves. And most importantly, how to tap when they don’t feel safe or want something to stop — and that their tap will always be respected.
Confidence doesn’t always look like walking onto the mat without fear. Sometimes it looks like being nervous and stepping onto the mat anyway.
Give them time. Let them learn. Let them get comfortable being uncomfortable. That’s where so much of the growth happens. ☀️🥋
