The Phillies have been the best team in baseball for the last month, and it’s not particularly close.

They had a 9-game win streak, a walk off homerun, a walk off triple, and a 9th inning grand slam in that stretch. They have the best OBP, win %, and batting average in August.

The Phils are still 5.0 GB of Atlanta, but have 7 games remaining against their fierce rival.

Will the Phils catch the Braves?

Scott Franzke CRUSHED the call on the go-ahead grand slam by Edmundo Sosa against the Angels.

Franzke is known for delivering amazing calls in the biggest moments for the Phillies and certainly came through here. In his 21st season calling the play-by-play for the club, Scott’s still got it.

What a night for the Phillies and Sosa!

PHILLIES. WIN.

This team and their ability to comeback in games is something I’ve never seen. Edmundo has come alive in August and has become one of the clutchest hitters for this club.

Commend everyone who got on ahead of Sosa as well, way to work counts.

Painter battling was also great to see, but he needs to figure out the 1st inning. His ERA is 10.00 in the 1st inning this year.

There was a stretch during 2016 when Odubel Herrera looked like the FUTURE of the Phillies outfield.

In 159 games, Herrera had 4.7 bWAR and a .781 OPS in his age 24 season. He got his only All-Star nod that season as well.

Herrera was a pretty decent hitter for Philadelphia from 2015-2018, before trouble hit him in 2019. He posted 13.3 WAR in about 5 years worth of MLB service time.

Bryce Harper’s first at-bat in Philadelphia in the World Series? A blast to right field to make it 2-0 Phils.

Harper was electric in the 2022 Postseason, despite his struggles in the World Series, he was still the driving force of the offense.

Hopefully Harper will have a chance for more WS games at Citizens Bank Park in a Phillies uniform soon.

Luis Arraez’s arrival to Philadelphia has transformed the lineup since August 3rd, especially Bryce Harper.

He currently leads the MLB in walks and has a .505 OBP in August 🔥

Bryce is on a 29 game on-base streak, and Luis Arraez is the current odds leader to have the highest batting average in baseball according to Polymarket.

Jean Segura was on the top of the baseball world in Game 3 of the 2022 National League Championship Series. With stunning defensive plays and clutch hits in big spots, he was one of the main contributors to the win.

Jean just played the right way with the Phillies, and new addition Luis Arraez has been drawing comparisons to Jean’s time in Philly.

Hopefully Arraez will be able to supply clutch moments in October for this team similar to Segura.
