☀️ Viparita Karani for Heatwave & Insomnia Relief

In hot weather, blood tends to pool in the lower extremities, which can keep your body temperature elevated. Viparita Karani (legs up the wall pose) cools the body and alleviates insomnia by elevating your legs, allowing cooler blood to circulate towards the core and head. Gravity helps blood flow back to the heart, reducing heart rate and signaling the brain to begin relaxing, aiding a restful sleep.
•Viparita Karani can be practiced by all levels at any time of day, but you may find it particularly beneficial in the evening during the warm weather if you're having trouble sleeping or want to cool down and relax.
•Using folded blankets or a bolster to cushion your spine and support your lumbar region enhances a more restorative experience.
•Please always seek guidance from a certified yoga teacher of you are unsure of any poses or have injuries/health conditions.
