On behalf of the Historical African Martial Arts Association and the Onye N’Chebe Martial Arts Club, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for Michael Rogers and the Haitian Machete Fencing Organization for coming to Philly and showing us the beauty of Tiré Manchét of the Avril Family.

Final day of the BHM challenge. Great way to segway into the Adwa Victory Day, we’re ending it with the Shotel and Gaasha. For all those who have been on this lil journey with me, thank you for your company. Hopefully, you were doing the challenge too, and just didn’t have the time to record! 👀👀👀
Day 27 of and one more day to go! Today we’re doing some kaskara and shield pell work. I don’t have a kaskara unfortunately 🙃 but I’m gonna use the takouba in place of one. This combination was used by the Mahdist Sudanese warriors during the Mahdist Wars from 1881-1891.
Gonna keep doing it till I can’t no more.
Day 26 of Afro centric style of kickboxing (a hybrid of Capoeira, Kandeka, and Morengy)
Day 25 of going 8 rounds on the bag with Nuba stick fighting. Still a living tradition to this day!
Day 24 of doing some Tahtib to some Fela Kuti. Realizing that we only 4 days left of BHM! ❤️🖤💚
Day 23 of doing my Capoeira kicks
Day 22 of working on some wrestling on the dummy.
Day 21 of Nguni stick flow
