It's time to say goodbye to livestream 🖥️
➡️ When we started livestreaming classes during COVID, we never imagined it would still be part of Maha this many years later.
We know there are still a few of you who stream into class regularly and I know how much it means to have access to Maha from home, whether you’re traveling, not feeling well, have a busy schedule, or simply can’t make it to the studio. 🫶🏻
And that’s what makes this decision so difficult.
But the reality is that livestream has been losing money for Maha for quite some time. So, we’ve made the difficult decision to finally let it go.
Our last livestream classes will be Sunday, August 30th, with the exception of Maha Mobility on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings, which we will continue to livestream for the foreseeable future.
Thank you for sticking with us through all the chapters of Maha. 💜 Please email me with any questions. It lands directly in my inbox. We hope to see you on the mat soon! ✨

The intermediate/advanced practice is back! 📣
I’ve been teaching the advanced practice at Maha for over 12 years. The class structure has always been that I lead from the mat, and we all practice together in a casual and supportive atmosphere.
While the class format has been steady over the past decade, there have also been countless changes over time, from the hiatus we took when I broke my arm in 2018, to the pandemic pause, to pulling it off the schedule entirely when I moved to Ithaca.
In celebration of my return, I am hosting an Intermediate/Advanced Series this Fall. 🎉 This asana series is for experienced students who want to practice together in community and approach intermediate and advanced poses in a supportive, fun way. You can join us for one session or all three.
1️⃣ October 11: Radical Backbends & Inversions
2️⃣ October 25: Deep Hamstrings, Twists & Side Bends
3️⃣ November 15: Advanced Arm Balances
I can’t wait to practice in community with you all again. See you on your mat! ✨

Do you think we do 6 hours of poses every day?? 🤔
One of the biggest misconceptions about yoga teacher training is that you'll spend six hours a day doing yoga poses.
That would be exhausting. 😅
Our training is designed to challenge your body, engage your mind, and give you plenty of time to reflect and integrate what you're learning. Yes, we practice together every day, but that's only one piece of the experience. ✨
Here's what a typical training day looks like:
🌞 Morning | 9:00am–12:30pm
We begin with a short lecture on yoga philosophy, anatomy, movement science, or a theme for the day before moving into a two-hour practice. The practice isn't just about moving—it's an opportunity to experience the concepts we're studying in your own body. We close with an extended meditation and time for journaling so you can process what you've learned before lunch.
⭐️ Afternoon | 2:00–5:00pm
After lunch, we revisit the morning practice with questions and discussion. This is where so many "aha!" moments happen. You'll work in small groups, explore readings, participate in breakout discussions, and gradually build your confidence through short teaching exercises—starting with something as simple as guiding Cat/Cow with the breath. We end each day with restorative yoga or Yoga Nidra, giving your body and nervous system time to absorb everything you've learned.
If you've been curious about our training, we'd love to have you join us this fall. 🤗

You don't have to be an advanced yogi 💭
There’s a common misconception that you need to be able to do complicated poses—or have years of experience—before you’re ready for yoga teacher training.
But yoga teacher training isn’t a reward for becoming “good enough” at yoga. 📣
You don’t need to have mastered every pose. You don’t need a perfect practice. And you definitely don’t need to be the most flexible person in the room.
What you do need is curiosity. 💫
Curiosity about your own body. Curiosity about how movement works. Curiosity about the history and philosophy of yoga. And a willingness to keep learning.
At Maha, our Immersion and Teacher Training programs are for people who want to go deeper—not just into the physical practice, but into a better understanding of how to move, how to teach, and how to develop a practice that can evolve over a lifetime.
So if you’ve been thinking, “I’m not ready yet,” maybe it's time to ask yourself a different question:
Am I curious enough to begin? ✨

Dance of the 7 Chakras: A Journey Through Energy, Movement & Sound w/ Michael ✨
🗓️ September 25th
Step into a transformative evening where movement becomes meditation and music awakens your inner landscape. Dance of the 7 Chakras is a guided, immersive experience designed to help you connect deeply with your body, breath, and energy centers.
We begin in a gentle opening circle, setting intention and creating a shared space of presence and connection. From there, you’ll be guided through each of the seven chakras—root to crown—using a blend of intuitive dance, evocative music, and light spoken guidance to awaken and balance each energy center.
Expect grounding rhythms for the root, fluid and sensual movement for the sacral, empowering beats for the solar plexus, heart-opening melodies, expressive throat activation, and expansive, meditative soundscapes as we rise to the third eye and crown. 💫 No dance experience is needed—just a willingness to move, feel, and explore.
As the journey integrates, we’ll transition into a deeply restorative savasana accompanied by a soothing sound bath, allowing the body and nervous system to fully absorb the experience.
We close in circle, sharing presence and grounding together, followed by fresh fruit to nourish and reconnect. 🤗
Come as you are. Leave aligned, energized, and deeply restored.
Friday, September 25th
