We had another unforgettable Sporting Club ‘field trip’ this week, this time to McGillin's Olde Ale House, one of Philadelphia’s oldest and most iconic bars.
Members gathered for an evening of great food, drinks, and stories as author Irene Levy Baker and third-generation owner Chris Mullins, who also happens to be a second-generation Sporting Club member, shared the history and lore behind the legendary bar and its new book. From surviving Prohibition and pandemics to serving as the meeting place for countless marriages and memories, McGillin’s is a true Philadelphia landmark.

From first lap nerves to race day confidence.🏊🥽
Led by triathlete and coach Joey Meyer, this progressive 8-week Triathlon Swim Training Camp is designed to help aspiring triathletes build confidence, endurance, and open-water readiness for race day. Through personalized coaching, swim drills, and race-specific skill development, participants will steadily improve technique and comfort in the water, whether it’s your first triathlon or your next one.
Each class builds on the last, creating a cumulative training experience focused on steady progress, accountability, and real results.

Choose one weekly session time and attend that same class each week for the full series:
• Mondays | 12:15 PM – 1:00 PM
• Wednesdays | 8:00 AM – 8:45 AM
• Fridays | 1:15 PM – 2:00 PM

On Saturday, our squash community came together for a tournament filled with good times, camaraderie, and competition. The Quick Strokes prevailed in the end, winning all three matches! 🎉Cheers to the other teams for their placements: Double Dot Divas (Runner-up), "T" Ticklers (Third), Squashbucklers (Fourth). Truly, everyone walked away a winner.👌
