Coach Anderson’s 8U Diamond Dawgs took down the Wildcats - RISING 9S, 10-7 on Friday in a friendly matchup.

The Diamond Dawgs got on the board in the top of the first inning after the Wildcats committed an error, and PJ grounded into a double play, each scoring one run. Nicky D also scored on an errant throw making the score 3-0.

The Diamond Dawgs scored seven runs on two hits in the top of the third inning. Bringing the score to 10-0. Zavier doubled, scoring two runs, Nicky D was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Connor, Landon, and Lucas drew walks. Each driving in one run, Liam singled, scoring one run.

The Wildcats scored seven runs on five hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. JJ came in relief to close the door.

Zavier earned the win for Diamond Dawgs. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking two.

If you’re yelling instruction to your kid from the stands while his coach is trying to coach him from the field, you’re not helping.

You’re making him choose.

Coach says stay.

Dad screams GO.

Coach says shorten up.

Mom yells swing hard.

Coach tells him to throw strikes.

Dad is behind the back stop yelling
about his elbow.

Then everybody wonders why the kid looks lost.

Here’s the part some parents won’t like.

You paid someone else to coach your kid.

So let them coach.

Your kid doesn’t need two hitting coaches, three pitching coaches and a base coach disguised as a parent sitting behind the fence.

He needs ONE voice when he’s between those lines.

From the stands, your job is to be his parent.

Let his coach be the coach.
