Boxing Memories - Being in the papers 🥊📰🗞️
Back in the day before social media, the only way people used to read or hear about your bouts was a old fashioned local newspaper or getting a write up in the Boxing News. The other way was word of mouth (always the one loud mouth who liked to tell everyone they where a boxer 🙄😂) but as I was very quiet and reserved so not many people knew when or If I had been competing.
This post will make me sound old but as a kid I didn’t get often mentioned but when I did it was always a good feeling 😁
I used to keep the newspaper clippings from my bouts but sadly lost them many years ago. Made my day for a family member to find this online which was one of my bouts at Berinsfield in 2006! Thanks to modern technology some newspaper clippings are online now 😂😁
Mad to think how much the world has moved on!

Storyy Group HAF Camps - Bracknell 😎☀️🥊
Great couple of weeks delivering HAF camps for Storyy Group with Boxing.
Nice to see kids doing something over the summer and introducing them to the sport. Hopefully when schools are back and routines kick in then they will join their local EnglandBoxing gyms.
Always a pleasure working with Storyy Group. A genuinely good group of people making a massive difference to the lives of young people.

RIP George Coston 🕊️
Very sad to hear the news that George Coston passed away.
My first memories of George are when he used to bring his Bulmershe boxers down Bracknell Boys Club to spar. When the leisure centre used to get temporarily shut for Bulmershe, he often asked Dad if he could bring boxers down the boys club to tick over or prepare for championships.
Ironically, after going away from the area for many years and then coming back, I went down to Bulmershe to help out coach and George was still there.
Genuinely one of the funniest story tellers I’ve ever met, he was a brilliant human being that epitomised everything that was good about old school coaching and grass roots amateur Boxing. He would help out anyone at the club and was always there for the kids to make them feel a million dollars.
He helped me a lot at Bulmershe and I will forever be grateful for his words of wisdom when I needed them. Some of the best days I’ve had in Boxing he’s been next to me in the corner.
The tributes I’ve seen towards him have shown how much of a respected community character he was and I’m very blessed to have known George and how much he meant to the people of Bulmershe ABC.

XXI Silesian Boxing Championships - Poland 🇵🇱 🥊
Buzzing to be selected as a coach for this upcoming international tournament in Poland with the England Boxing Senior Performance Team.
Always a honour to put on the white tracksuit and represent your country in any capacity. It’s a really talented group of boxers so looking forward to seeing lots of medals coming back from Poland…. Let’s have it 😁👊

Boxing Hydration - Coconut Water 🥊🥥
Coconut water can be a useful hydration option for boxers, particularly around training and intense conditioning sessions.
I drank a lot of it while I was out in Thailand… the Thais used to say it was a more natural sports drink which is why it was it was better for you… considering they are some of the toughest fighters I’ve ever met I’m not going to argue with that and it’s good enough for me 😂👍
Sadly since being back, I’ve never found any other decent brands of coconut water I actually like… personally I’ve found them all a little grim 🤢
However, nice to see a couple of ex The Ring boxers setting up their own coconut water business who said I should try their product. Happy to say it’s the best coconut water I’ve had since being back from Thailand 👍
Always nice to see boxers I’ve coached over the years doing well outside of Boxing. People often forget that boxers are human beings first and there is a life after and out of Boxing. Good work lads!

Boxwise Lite Summer Holiday Camps - Reading 😎☀️🥊
Brilliant this week running the Boxwise Lite Programme at MB Muay Thai on behalf of the Boxwise Foundation.
Boxwise Foundation is a UK registered charity that uses boxing as a tool for youth development, tackling issues such as knife crime, gang involvement, social exclusion and disengagement from education.
Good to be running these free schemes to get kids doing something over the school holidays. Thankyou to James and Mark for letting me use the space and for Boxwise for choosing me to run one in Reading.
Hopefully be doing a few more in the future!
