💕Not all gifts are things. Some are shared experiences from the heart. Sound healing is a musical meditation that soothes the nervous system. A deep reset that makes a lasting impact.

🎶 Private sound baths are an awesome way to celebrate a birthday or bride-to-be. Invite the friend who really needs a break. It’s especially helpful for someone who is grieving a loss.

💗In our sessions stress melts away and the mind gets quiet. People leave feeling like themselves again, sometimes more than they have in a while.

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 All ages ans abilies welcome. We recommend afternoon or evening sessions. This is when the body is ready to slow down. Our space holds up to 20 and can accommodate a small or large group.

🌚 We offer public sound baths monthly with the new moon.

🌸✨This crown of thorns, originally a cutting from my mom’s plant that I grew up with, was left without water summer of 2004. It lost its ability to grow thorns or flowers. When we picked it up from my sister’s college apartment to move it north, we saw that it had stopped flowering but it took us years to notice the bare spots without thorns associated with the lack of growth in that era. It’s been happy at the studio since 2011 flowering, growing and sharing its beauty, right along side the rest of us!

Our end of the street may be a little quieter right now with construction and some nearby businesses closed, but we are still here serving up all the good things — and parking is super easy! We’d love to see you this weekend. 💛

Dear Yoga Community,
Thank you for supporting my dreams. I never imagined I could create a life this beautiful. I want to start by saying I LOVE teaching yoga. Due to some difficult aspects of business ownership, I am feeling burnt out and in need of a healthy change. I have decided to retire from studio ownership in August. This decision doesn’t come lightly.

Many miracles fell into place for Yoga Roots to come into fruition on my 30th birthday in 2007. Our sacred space is a Divine Gift. One that I do not take for granted. One that will be hard to step away from. After 20+ years of teaching I am amazed at what I’ve been able to accomplish. Still, I feel that there is something else waiting for me.

My next dream involves warmer weather, days spent in the ocean living out my mermaid dreams. Winter retreats in the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. I see colorful cloud filled skies and feel warm tropical breezes in my future. This is a fond farewell to the deepest of the winter doldrums, to snow, ice and forced air heat.

It’s being true to myself to admit that I crave growth. I am moving on to create a new adventure that feels right in every part of my body. Something that builds new neural pathways and forces me to problem solve in fresh ways. I can feel inspiration in hibernation, ready to awaken. I teem with creative ideas and look forward to the collaborations manifesting for the future. I still plan on summertime in northern Michigan, and enjoying all four seasons in the six months of June through December.

What happens to the studio and the building? I’m open. I have decided the “when” and the Universe will take care of the “how”. I trust that only the best will unfold for a win-win situation. I own the building. I would consider renting or selling, selling the business, creating a yoga co-op, being open seasonally and any combination thereof. I don’t have the answers now, I am considering all ideas and open to negotiations. I will remain in the question until clear answers reveal themselves.
