⛵ CRUISE-IN PSA: SEPTEMBER 25–28

Seven visiting boats from Cruiser Haven Yacht Club & one from Ocean Cruising Club will be cruising into the Petaluma Turning Basin September 25–28!

If you’re downtown, enjoy the sight of the visiting fleet and give our guests a warm Petaluma welcome. And if you’re out on the river, remember that the Turning Basin and waterway may be a little busier than usual.

Keep a good lookout, give larger and docked vessels plenty of room, and share the water safely.

Have fun, enjoy the view, and be safe on the water!

Some of you are already booking boats. Some of you are emailing us with questions.

And some of you are clearly already thinking about THE COSTUME. ✨🧙‍♀️

So consider this your reminder: Witches & Wizards on The Water returns to the Petaluma River on October 24, from 11 am–2 pm, with our on-the-water Costume Contest from 12–1 pm.

There will be prizes—and we encourage you to have fun with it. Our judges can even be persuaded to create a new category when someone arrives with an idea that simply cannot go unrewarded.

So yes, plan ahead. And don’t forget that your boat can be part of the costume. Kayaks, paddleboards, pedal kayaks, water bikes, canoes and other Floathouse “brooms” offer a lot of creative possibilities.

Come as Glinda. Come as a sea monster. Build a floating cauldron. Coordinate the whole family. Surprise us.

The event and costume contest are free, and bringing your own boat is free, too. If you’d like to use one of ours, rentals are available throughout the day—and we’re already getting bookings, so reserving ahead is a very good idea.

🎃 THE MAGIC DOESN’T PACK ITSELF.

Witches & Wizards on the Water returns Saturday, October 24—and we need volunteers to help us make one of the most delightfully spooky days of the year happen.

This is the day our river fills with witches, wizards, costumes, boats and boards, and trick-or-treaters following our paddle trail with these cotton bags in hand.

And behind all that magic? Community.

If you’d like to be part of the crew that helps bring Witches & Wizards on the Water to life, sign up for a volunteer spot here:

You may notice several LASTs on this calendar.

Don’t worry: The Floathouse is open year-round for rentals, tidal paddles, lunar adventures and plenty more. But some of our favorite gatherings belong to a particular season — and a few of them are about to take their final bow for 2026.

So perhaps this is the week to align, alight & find the light.

Thursday, September 24 | 5:30–6:30 pm
🌅 Last Thursday Paddle & Party
Bring your own boat or rent one of our kayaks or paddleboards and head out for an evening paddle as the sun drops lower. Then come back to the dock for snacks, conversation and the company of people who understand that paddling on a Thursday night is an entirely reasonable life choice.

Sunday, September 27 | 9:30–11:00 am
✨ Fall Solstice Paddleboard Yoga + Sound Bath
Our ultimate slow-down-and-notice-the-season experience: paddleboard yoga, water, sky and a sound bath, all woven together into 90 minutes of deep relaxation and reconnection.

Friday, October 2 | 6:00–7:00 pm
🧘 Last Free Community Yoga on The Dock of the season
This final class is sponsored by Reiki practitioner Brieyen Parracino of Coriander Energy Healing — a particularly fitting community partner as we move into a season of transition, reflection and rebalancing.

Saturday, October 3 | 10:00 am–12:00 pm
🚣 Turn to The River
See Petaluma from water level on our guided past-present-future river tour. We look at the river that shaped this town, the waterfront we have now, and the ways our relationship with the river continues to change.

Sunday, October 4 | 10:00 am–12:00 pm
🎭 Last Petaluma River History Paddle of the season
This one is unlike anything else we do: part guided paddle, part history lesson and part live local theater, with costumed actors appearing along the shore as the river’s stories unfold around you.

The river doesn’t close for fall. Neither do we.

But seasons change, programs change, the light changes — and sometimes the best response is simply to show up and notice.

Take a look at our September 24–October 4 calendar and join us for whatever calls to you. Registration and details are on our Events page.

Saturday’s forecast: 6.8 feet of opportunity. 🌊

High tide hits 6.8' at 3:20 pm on Saturday, September 12.

So the question is:

What are you going to do with this information?

We have some ideas. ➡️

Swipe through for three very different ways to spend your Saturday with the Petaluma River—whether you want to follow the tide upstream, ride it downstream, or stay closer to home for an evening on the water and DJ Bish on The Floathouse dock.

One big tide. One long Saturday. Lots of ways to FLOW.

And with the Petaluma River Craft B**r Fest happening on Water Street from 12–5, it’s a pretty good day to make the river part of your plans.

We’re open 9 am–7:30 pm, with last boats out at 6:30 pm.

Pick your FLOW. Be HERE.

Saturday, September 12: Nothing to do but FLOW. 🌊

A 6.8' high tide at 3:20 pm. A Saturday afternoon. Petaluma celebrating its river. And so many ways to be part of it.

Go upstream with the tide, into the upper reaches of the Petaluma River on our Upstream High Tide Paddle, 2:30–4:30 pm.

Go downstream with it on our Downriver Run, 3–5 pm, all the way to Lakeville Landing Marina—then step into Sundrop Sauna for sauna + cold plunge, 5–6:30 pm.

Or stay closer to home. ❤️

We’re open late until 7:30 pm, with last boats out at 6:30, and DJ Bish will be spinning on the dock from 5:30–7 pm as the sun starts heading down.

And with the Petaluma River Craft B**r Fest happening on Water Street from 12–5, the whole neighborhood will be celebrating the river right along with us.

Upstream. Downstream. Around the Basin. On the dock.

There’s something for every body, every schedule, and every kind of Saturday.

So many choices. Easy to make.

Make The Floathouse part of your mid-September Saturday.

Be HERE.
