💙 In Memory of Myra Williams
Today, we remember and honor Myra Williams, a beloved member of E.S. Cobb Resource Center and the Pensacola Parks & Recreation family.

For more than three decades, Myra served her community, welcoming people, creating connections, and helping make Cobb Resource Center a place where people could gather, grow and feel at home.

Her impact can be found not only in the work she did, but also in the people she met, the relationships she built and the memories she helped create along the way.
While we mourn her passing, we are grateful for the years she gave to our community and the lasting mark she leaves behind.

Cobb Resource Center is hosting a memorial service in Myra’s honor tonight from 6 to 8 p.m.

Located at Cobb, Gull Point, and Woodland Heights Resource Centers, our After School Program is giving participants the opportunity to build their skills through hands-on computer learning with IXL and SplashLearn! ✨

These interactive learning platforms help students:
🧠 Strengthen math and reading skills
📖 Reinforce what they’re learning in the classroom
🎯 Practice at their own pace and build confidence
💡 Develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
📈 Build stronger academic foundations that can support improved classroom performance
⭐ Turn learning into an engaging, interactive experience

By making educational enrichment part of after-school time, we’re helping kids keep learning, growing and building confidence long after the school day ends.

‼️The Direction 25: Pensacola Parks Revitalization Projects are well underway in Pensacola! Check out the most recent updates below. Which projects are you most excited about?

➡️ Roger Scott Pool: Permanent restrooms are scheduled to be installed this Fall after the season ends. (pictured)
➡️ Sanders Beach Kayak Launch: In progress. Scheduled to reopen in Winter 2026. (pictured)
➡️ Bayview split-rail fence: Old fence posts have been removed and disposed. New fence installation scheduled for late September.
➡️ Bayview Tennis Court Parking Lot Resurfacing: Scheduled to begin this weekend, weather permitting.
➡️ Bayview Tennis Court Resurfacing: Scheduled to begin the week of September 7. Three courts will be resurfaced at a time. Markings for pickleball and tennis will be painted on 3 of the 6 courts.
➡️ Bay Bluffs Park: Site surveying and detailed structural assessments are underway. The project is expected to go out for bid in Spring 2027. Construction is expected to begin in Fall 2027. Public Engagement meetings will continue in Winter 2026.
